As a Neurodiagnostic Technologist II, you'll perform advanced electro-neurodiagnostic procedures while working closely with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to deliver safe, accurate, and compassionate patient care. Position Summary The Neurodiagnostic Technologist II performs complex diagnostic studies of the central and peripheral nervous systems in compliance with federal and state regulations, The Joint Commission (TJC), NAEC, ABRET, AANEM, and industry best practices. You'll apply advanced technical expertise, critical thinking, and clinical judgment to ensure high-quality testing, accurate data collection, and optimal patient outcomes across all Renown Health facilities. What You'll Do Perform a wide range of neurodiagnostic procedures including EEGs, long-term monitoring (LTM), continuous video EEG (CVEEG), ambulatory EEGs (24-72 hour), evoked potentials, and NCS/EMGs. Prepare patients through proper electrode application, clinical assessment, and collection of technical history to support accurate physician interpretation. Monitor patients during procedures, recognize significant findings, and ensure patient safety and comfort throughout testing. Review and analyze recordings for accuracy, completeness, and technical quality in accordance with ABRET accreditation standards and departmental policies. Reformat, reduce, and extract diagnostic data for physician review and archival purposes. Independently perform studies and adapt protocols based on patient tolerance, clinical indication, and physician orders. Participate in training, mentoring, and education of students, allied health professionals, and physicians. Support departmental accreditation activities and maintain required continuing education and certifications. Assist in evaluating new technologies and instrumentation related to neurodiagnostic services. What You Bring Education/Registry: ABRET (R.EEG.T), AAET (R.NCS.T), or ABEM (CNCT) certification required. Experience: Minimum of 2 years of recent, high-level neurodiagnostic experience (3 years preferred). Certifications: Current BLS (AHA) required. Skills: Strong technical expertise, attention to detail, patient-centered communication, and the ability to work autonomously. Individual Occupational Requirements Basic Requirements Education Applicants must have a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from a school approved by the American Dental Association (ADA) or the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained. Licensure Applicants must have passed the National Board Dental Examinations (NBDE) which are developed and administered by the Joint Commission on National Dental Examinations (JCNDE) and possess a current, full, and unrestricted license to practice dentistry in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. Applicants who meet the above basic requirements qualify for the GS-11 grade level. Experience In addition to meeting the above education and licensure requirements, applicants must have one or more full years of experience, equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing professional dentistry work for GS-12 level and above assignments. Qualifying experience involves the evaluation, prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases, injuries, and disorders of the oral cavity and maxillofacial area. Examples of dentistry experience may include the removal of decay; filling cavities; straightening, extracting, and repairing teeth; treating gum diseases; performing corrective surgery; making measurements/models for dentures to replace missing teeth, administering anesthetics, writing prescriptions; and performing other requirements of the position. Some dentists specialize in an area, such as, but not limited to, the following: Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Pediatric Dentistry Periodontics Prosthodontics Endodontics Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology Dental Public Health For the above specialty areas, experience, education, board certification, and/or training must clearly establish the applicant's status as a specialist.
