Key Responsibilities:
Conduct critical biological, chemical, and physical testing on raw materials, in-process and final products, and environmental monitoring samples with minimal supervision.
Serve as a mentor to Quality Laboratory Associate (QLA) I staff, providing training, guidance, and work direction as needed.
Review test data for accuracy and compliance with documentation requirements; perform release functions in LIMS or other computerized systems.
Operate sophisticated laboratory instrumentation and computer systems to collect, analyze, and document data.
Perform advanced biological and chemical assays requiring precise analytical techniques and strong understanding of scientific principles.
Complete all routine and special project/protocol testing in a timely and compliant manner.
Maintain data integrity and ensure adherence to SOPs, specifications, and regulatory requirements including FDA, GLP, QSR, and cGMP.
Investigate deviations and prepare exception documentation.
Participate in cross-functional teams to support production, improve efficiency, resolve issues, reduce costs, and enhance quality.
Conduct laboratory and manufacturing audits; update plant SOPs as required.
Perform routine equipment maintenance and calibrations.
Key Requirements and Technology Experience:

Conduct biological, chemical, and physical analyses on pharmaceutical products and medical devices throughout all stages of manufacturing-from incoming raw materials to in-process and finished goods-as well as environmental monitoring samples.
Ensure all testing is performed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable regulations and company standards.
Bachelor's degree in chemistry or Biological Sciences with analytical chemistry or laboratory coursework and 2-5 years of relevant experience, OR
Master's degree in chemistry or Biological Sciences with 0-3 years of relevant experience.

Job Summary:
An employee in this classification is responsible for organizing, supplying, and maintaining lab facilities for both students and instructors. They provide essential support to faculty instructors by preparing the lab facilities before use and assisting during open lab hours. This ensures that the lab environment is well-equipped and ready for educational activities.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Associate's degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Basic knowledge of assigned discipline.

Essential Duties:
Supervise and assist students during open lab hours.
Maintain lab facilities to ensure a clean and safe working environment.

Provide routine preventative equipment maintenance, including cleaning and minor technical adjustments. Clean, calibrate and maintain all equipment. Test and maintain safety equipment in accordance with local, state and federal regulations.
Prepare lab facilities for all laboratory classes, e.g., prepare and store stock solutions and/or media, maintain specimens, and provide equipment calibrations as necessary. Restock and organize student bench supplies and set up.
Maintain inventory, organize and re-order supplies.

The Quality Lab Supervisor provides support for daily operations of the lab and controls the workflow while implementing testing standards and policies.
What you'll be doing
Supervise safety measures of lab. Assist lab personnel and improve their performance.
Ensure completion of all testing, including special project / protocol testing in a timely and appropriate manner.
Assist in implementing quality and regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, GLP, QSR, cGMP, USP, and CDR rules and guidelines), and ensure compliance with testing SOPs and specifications.

Overview
The Senior Lab Technician is responsible for supporting and coordinating the daily technical activities of the R&D laboratory. This role provides advanced technical expertise in testing, prototype builds, and equipment operation, while also serving as a mentor and resource for other lab technicians. The Senior Lab Technician ensures that lab projects are executed safely, accurately, and on schedule, while maintaining a high level of organization, efficiency, and quality. Acting as the lead hands-on technician, this role helps maintain smooth daily operations and supports the Lab Manager by ensuring tasks are carried out consistently with company standards and project requirements.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities (Essential Job Functions):
Lab Operations & Testing (60%)
Perform and oversee daily lab activities, including testing, builds, and prototype assembly.
Ensure all testing is conducted safely, accurately, and according to documented procedures.
Troubleshoot technical issues with equipment, fixtures, or test setups.
Maintain organized, clean, and safe lab workspaces.
Technical Expertise & Support (25%)
Serve as the go-to technical resource for lab personnel.
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior technicians on proper testing and build practices.
Assist with equipment setup, calibration, and routine maintenance.
Recommend improvements to test methods, workflows, or equipment usage.
Maintain thorough knowledge of ProDriven test standards and procedures
Documentation & Coordination (15%)
Accurately record test data, build notes, and daily lab activity logs.
Assist with preparation of test reports, when required.
Communicate status of lab work and escalate issues to the Lab Manager.
Help coordinate scheduling of tasks, equipment, and shared resources.
Qualifications
Preferred Experience & Education
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
5+ years of experience in a laboratory, prototype, or testing environment.
Strong technical and mechanical aptitude; experience with test equipment and prototype builds.
Prior experience mentoring or training other technicians is a plus.

Salary Range:
$55,000 - $76,000
The pay range listed is for Illinois based roles. It is not typical for a candidate to be hired at or near the top of the pay range.
