About the Role - The Clinical Laboratory Assistant (CLA) will be responsible for supporting Clinical Laboratory Scientists and Lab Management in the daily operations of Octave's Clinical Lab. Primary duties will consist of sample receipt and accessioning into LIMS, data entry, customer service activities, prepping blood samples for analysis, performing maintenance on equipment, general laboratory and administrative tasks and complying with all applicable local, state, and federal laboratory requirements. The work requires keeping meticulous and organized records, excellent attention to detail, effective written and verbal communication skills, the ability to multitask and be flexible with schedules, and working both independently and in a team environment to deliver high quality results in the most efficient manner.
Schedule: This position will follows a Tuesday-Saturday work week to align with laboratory operations.
Responsibilities
Receiving and accessioning samples.
Data entry and quality check of patient and sample information in the laboratory information management system (LIMS).
Prepare and aliquot samples for testing.

Role Summary

We are seeking a full-time candidate for a Lab Technician to support innovation and product development in frostings and icings. The ideal candidate combines a strong scientific foundation with practical, hands-on experience in fast-paced environments such as laboratories, kitchens, or production facilities. They are detail-oriented and organized. This role involves technical formulation, creating bench prototypes and sales samples, and quality and sensory evaluation. This role reports to the R&D Product Development Manager. This role is on-site 3-5 days/week
How You'll Help
Support product development through benchtop formulation, prototype preparation, sensory evaluation, data analysis, and documentation for regulatory, nutritional, and certification compliance.
Test and analyze ingredients
Manage R&D ingredient inventory and ensure all benchtop evaluations follow Good Laboratory Practices
Clean, calibrate, and operate analytical equipment.
Design and execute experiments
Prepare Samples
What you'll bring
Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, or related field,
OR Associate's degree with 2+ years of food lab experience,
OR equivalent hands-on food science experience with demonstrable knowledge of techniques and equipment
At least 1 year of experience in laboratory functions within the food, beverage, chemical, or pharmaceutical industry
Working knowledge of formulation principles, ingredient functionality, sensory evaluation, and food processing.
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to balance multiple priorities
Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Ability to work collaboratively within a team
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Google Workspace and Dropbox

We are seeking a Lab Chemistry Technician who is passionate about hands-on experimentation and eager to support the creation of advanced materials for next generation humanoid robots. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys preparing materials with precision, running characterization tests, executing polymer and other organic synthesis reactions, and working closely with senior scientists in a fast paced laboratory environment.
You will work directly under the supervision of the Polymer Chemist and the Materials Science Lead, supporting the development of elastomers, coatings, adhesives, textiles and multilayer material systems that enable future robot architectures.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare polymer formulations, elastomers, textiles and composite samples, and perform hands-on laboratory experiments including the synthesis and modification of polymers under senior scientist supervision.
* Operate laboratory equipment for mixing, curing, casting, coating, laminating, and other processing of soft material systems.
* Execute and improve synthesis workflows using glass and stainless reactors, feed pumps, temperature controllers, nitrogen purging systems, and filtration equipment, following SOPs for start up, shut down, and cleaning.
* Conduct material characterization such as tensile testing, hardness measurements, rheology, thermal analysis, adhesion testing, and visual inspection.
* Maintain meticulous laboratory records, document procedures and results, and contribute to technical reports when required.

* Maintain an up to date SDS database and ensure proper labeling, handling, storage, and inventory management of chemicals and materials.
