Under the direction of the VP- Operations BHI and in conjunction with the pathologists, the Coroporate Director of Laboratory is responsible for management and oversight of day to day operational responsibilities of laboratory departments across the BHC system. These tasks to include Acute Care, Outpatient, Baptist Medical Parks and Outreach for alignment, the system and financial viability of all Laboratory services. He/She contributes to the strategic development and implementation of programs tied to growth opportunities within Baptist Health Care; provides specific attention to the daily operations and productivity of the all facilities with direct oversight of each clinic manager; while managing alignment to the BHC system. The New York Stem Cell Foundation (NYSCF) Research Institute is a growing and successful nonprofit whose mission is to accelerate cures through stem cell research.

NYSCF is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Director, Oncology who will establish a New York State CLEP permitted Precision Medicine Clinical Laboratory and will work closely with NYSCF's Women's Reproductive Cancer Initiative and Pilot Pioneer in Precision Medicine program.

In this role, you will be responsible for overall oversight of the NYSCF Clinical Laboratory including direction with regard to laboratory design and equipment, as well as the hiring and supervision of laboratory personnel who are qualified to perform test procedures. You will also be responsible for recording and reporting test results promptly, accurately and proficiently, and for ensuring compliance with NYS applicable regulations and accreditation requirements. You may delegate responsibilities to trained staff but assume responsibility for the proper application of policies and procedures, and operate the laboratory in a high quality, efficient and effective way.

NYSCF is open to filling this role in a part-time or full-time capacity, depending on the qualified candidate and NYSCF's agreed upon terms.

What you'll do Ensure that all testing performed under your supervision is according to established, approved procedures and quality control policies.Support and comply with all regulatory and organizational policies and procedures. Accountable for implementation and employee compliance with policies and procedures.Adhere to all Hazcom, Universal Precautions, fire and safety policies and procedures. Responsible for annual staff retraining for all safety policies. Assist in the preparation of developing QA standards and indicators required for the departmental QA Committee as well as requirements of regulatory agencies (New York State CLEP). Responsible for monitoring technical competency of technical personnel to include annual competency evaluation as per CLEP standards and regulations.Remain current on laboratory regulatory and compliance requirements. Advise laboratory management on the necessity for meeting any changes in these requirements.Possess a working knowledge of regulatory requirements, government agencies, and private accreditation groups within the span of control required. Responsible for ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements, including federal, CLIA and New York State CLEP requirements.Perform management tasks such as: - Interview, employ or make authoritative recommendations concerning subordinate associates. - Work closely with NYSCF's Women's Reproductive Cancer Initiative and Pilot Pioneer in Precision Medicine program to plan laboratory resource allocation and make adjustments to ensure continuous operations and productivity levels. - Coach and counsel staff to assist in their professional development.Anticipate departmental needs to establish both long and short-range goals; provide direction to the employees to ensure implementation of plans and the meeting of goals; and measure compliance in collaboration with administration.
