This Staff Cyber Systems Engineer position is for a Cyber Lead on a Ground Segment focused program where you will provide Subject Matter Expertise for a new mission. The core goal is architecting, designing, and building security features into ground segment subsystems, components, and ground Mission-Unique Software.
This position requires extensive experience with software security assurance, secure coding best practices, establishing security quality metrics, remediation of software weaknesses, and secure deployment of application software into customer cloud computing environments. Prior knowledge and experience applying Cyber/Systems Security Engineering (Cyber/SSE) principles to complex systems in the early system development phase of the lifecycle is essential. As the Cyber Lead, you are responsible for internal/external stakeholder coordination of Cyber/SSE requirements, development status, milestones, and deliverables.
Exceptional customer intimacy skills are essential. Additionally, you coordinate multi-disciplinary activities across multiple overlapping threads and engineering specialties -- Ground Software Engineering, Cyber Software Security Assurance (C/SSA), Mission Software Integration, Systems Engineering, ISSM, ISSE, and ISSOs. You will have primary oversight of a ISSE and C/SSA activities focused on Cyber CDRL development and Static and Dynamic security scanning of Ground Mission Unique Software.
Implementing SECURITY into a DevSecOps CI/CD pipeline is part of the hands-on skills required for this position. As the Cyber Lead, you should demonstrate strong technical qualifications and leadership on complex development efforts.
Additional Responsibilities for a Staff Program Cyber/SSE Lead:
Working as a programmatic lead in a structured engineering environment, where you may supervise and prioritize application security requirements.
Negotiating security responsibilities with external IAAS & PAAS providers for every layer of the technology stack between hardware and application layer.
Deep understanding of virtualization technologies with emphasis on cloud computing environments. Knowledge and certifications in Cloud Security architectures is a plus.
Developing security-focused assessment procedures for application containers and container orchestration environments, such as Kubernetes is essential.
Connecting systems and subsystems having different security classification levels using approved Cross Domain Solutions and/or Data Diodes. Coordinating the roles of the CDS supplier technical personnel, operational cyber staff, SCA & CDSE stakeholders is essential in fielding an approvable solution.
Leading Cyber/SSE element technical presentations during engineering milestone reviews - SRR, PDR, CDR, and PSR in accordance with our internal, NG Cyber Systems Engineering Standards document.
As the Cyber/SSE thread-lead, project management experience is crucial, to include experience as a Cost Account Manager (CAM) within large programs required to use Earned Value Management System (EVMS).
Supervise C/SSA processes to include ensuring Static Code Analysis (SCA) tool(s) (e.g. Fortify, SonarQube) are integrated into ground software development environments; triage tool findings to prioritize remediation activities; allocate low priority findings as technical debt in the SwDLC backlog.
Defining programmatic Cyber guidance to shepherd software development scrum teams on secure coding practices, security-focused engineering trade studies, and other security best practices for our mission unique software development efforts.
Ensuring the multi-disciplinary team are remediating security tool findings by working with software developers, systems engineers, and other engineering disciplines to resolve technical and programmatic cybersecurity concerns. A demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and productively with others is an essential skill, as well as distilling and communicating technical cyber backlog (POA&Ms) to internal & external leaders.
Understanding of Space/Ground interface control documents and security-relevant connectivity considerations at physical, electrical, and logical layers.
Leading other Cyber/SSE personnel in the development of program CDRLs:
RMF SSP including SCTM, RAR, POAMs and relevant artifacts (Incident Response Plan, Contingency Plan, ConMon Plan, as appropriate).
Ensuring systems are operated, maintained, and disposed of in accordance with security policies and procedures as outlined in the system security authorization package (SSP, RAR, SCTM, ConMon Plan).
Championing automation efforts across all DevSecOps disciplines to routinely accomplish SCAP compliance scans, vulnerability scans, container scans, developing and running security control Verification Procedures and automating manual STIG check lists.
Experience with these adjacent technologies is helpful: AWS, Iron Bank, Kubernetes, OpenStack
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in STEM field with 14 years IT security (Cybersecurity) experience in support of USG (Or a Masters w/ 12 years, or a PhD with 9 year.) Experience can be considered in lieu of degree

Position Summary: Our current immediate need is for a senior level engineer with Modelica modeling and experimental testing experience. Responsibilities include developing and advising representative models for various HVAC and other thermal systems, validating models using laboratory data, and directing laboratory testing activity. The Project Engineer assists the Project Manager on assigned construction projects. The position performs routine daily activities and gathers and distributes information to subcontractors, consultants, architects, and clients. Candidates must be flexible and adaptable team-players, and have strong communication and client service skills. Work will be performed both in office and on jobsite. Daily responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Management of assigned trades to include quantity take off, preparations of bid packages and procurement.
Initiate, prepare, review, and track RFI's.
Receive, review, forward, and track status of Submittals.
Assist in management of project permit process.
Change management systems, including; soliciting, receiving, reviewing, and preparing quotations and change orders.
Assist in preparation of monthly owner project status reports, as required.
Attend and/or leads project meetings as assigned.
Project coordination and Document Control.
Assists and/or lead project close out.
Understand, communicate, and enforce the JMA Safety & Health Management Plan.
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree; Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture related disciplines are preferred.
Ability to manage competing priorities in a deadline driven work environment.

The Opportunity: Project Engineer (Civil)
The Port of Virginia - Virginia International Terminals is seeking a Project Engineer with expertise in Civil Engineering and/or Construction Project Management to provide engineering expertise in the planning, design, construction and maintenance of the Commonwealth-operated marine and intermodal terminal facilities. This individual will communicate plans with internal and external stakeholders, and will ensure projects are accomplished on time, within budget and with the highest degree of quality available; utilizing resources effectively and efficiently.
What You'll Do: Responsibilities
Provides administrative and budget control over assigned projects; provides oversight related to outside consulting Architectural/Engineers (A/Es) and construction contractors (KTRs).
Maintains constant awareness of progress related to assigned projects; including the work performed by A/E and KTRs through detailed reviews (depending upon importance and complexity of work).
Is responsible for the execution of assigned civil works projects including coordination as appropriate with involved organizations and concerned parties. The PE will collaborate with the senior engineering staff to determine the preferred method of accomplishing the objectives of each project. The PE monitors individual projects through the planning, design and construction phases.
Provides cost and method analysis to support marketing efforts; identifies potential problem areas involving project scope. Participates in the creation of mitigation plans to resolve problems. Reviews all proposed construction contract change orders to ensure they are necessary, relevant, and within funding levels. Makes recommendations for approvals of change order, project plans, and associated budgets.
Position is designated “mission essential” for the purposes of extreme weather and other hazard preparation and recovery activities.
Ensures compliance with all Commonwealth of Virginia security, safety, and environmental regulations and policies within work area at all times. This includes properly addressing issues through action or reporting issues and concerns to Manager.

Who You Are: Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
Minimum 5 years of hands-on, experience in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
Thorough knowledge of construction engineering principles, theory.
Excellent communication skills: written, verbal and presentation
Proficiency with AutoCAD software.
Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
Exhibit sound judgement and professionalism in all aspects of the position.
Work closely with employees at all levels and within all divisions of the Port as well as external stakeholders and customers.
Preferred Qualifications
Registered as a Professional Engineer in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Hands on construction oversight and administration. This includes performing field inspections related to quality control and construction method validation.
Knowledge of industry operations, policies, practices and processes.
Experience in port-related engineering disciplines.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
Experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) programs.

• Maintain the Thermo Fisher Middletown HVAC, Freezer and Refrigeration Units.
• Perform corrective and preventive maintenance on production, utility, and facility equipment. This involves all necessary documentation and data collection associated w/performing calibrations/ preventive maintenance work and validations of production equipment.
• Capable of interpreting and executing mechanical plans, reading technical drawings, drafts and sketches.
• Work independently in performing various tasks.
• Assist other multi-craft maintenance personnel to resolve technical issues.
• Document all equipment modifications for drawing revision.
• Make recommendations for equipment and process improvements
• Comply with all industry standard and company specific safety regulations.
