Quality Control Checks: Perform daily checks on lab equipment including the stainer, coverslipper, and ovens, alerting the manager regarding maintenance needs.
Cleanliness: Responsible for assisting in the cleanliness of the lab to avoid cross-contamination and ensuring a free workspace within the lab.
Safety: Ensuring safety at all times is to be expected. Must be willing to adhere to PPE guidelines and practicing safe methods when handling the specimens.
Grossing: May be responsible for assisting in the grossing process after proper training. Willingness to handle patient tissue and make precise cuts for best orientation of specimens in later processes.

Description
Perform laboratory analysis on in-process and finished product samples to determine conformance to the specifications of quality and purity.
Collect samples throughout the plant and delivery of samples to the Central Analytical Lab.
Perform results analysis in a fast-paced environment and reporting deviations to Operations.
Review and interpret shift notes and addition of relevant lab findings.
Ensure equipment at Critical Control Points in the process are in working condition.
Communicate with fellow lab techs during shift change.
Maintain lab cleanliness and keep track of inventory of product ingredients.
Ensure samples are properly collected, labeled, and matched with accurate results
Participate in production line cleaning procedures.
Daily verification of lab instruments
Recording, interpreting, and entering test results using a computerized data system
Maintain samples of tested product in order to confirm test results, when necessary
Maintains adequate supplies used for testing procedures and notifies the supervisor of the need to re-order such supplies
Continually compares test results with standards to ensure that all products are within specification
Handle various chemicals per the Safety Data Sheet provided by the manufacturer
Job Qualifications
* High School Diploma or GED required, Associates in an applied science preferred
* Preferred analytical laboratory experience
* Math Skills
* Communicate effectively in writing and verbally, with other employees in a clear and professional manner
* Multitasking and Organization
* Basic computer skills, MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, OneNote), and different software programs for the instruments.
* Commitment to safety
* Ability to sit/stand/walk for long periods of time while performing job duties.
* Must be capable of working from heights, bending, kneeling, climbing stairs, and able to lift 50 lbs repeatedly (ex. Moving a gas cylinder)

Scenario facts must be accurately memorized, retained, and portrayed. Scenarios may be audio and videotaped for evaluative purposes. The Standardized Patient must be willing to assist with simulation tasks such as resetting scenarios and occasionally offering feedback. This position will work approximately 100-200 hours per academic semester approximately and 50 hours during the summer semester.
