PURPOSE STATEMENT
* To ensure products manufactured are safe, legal and comply to customer's quality standards.
* To ensure all food safety monitoring equipment are well maintained and calibrated to comply with legal and customer standard requirements.
This role is based on working day shift on Saturday (12 hours), Sunday (12 hours) and Monday (8 hours).
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/OUTCOMES
* Ensure compliance with British Retail Consortium (BRC) and customer specific standards are met at all times.
* Working with the Production Team to establish and maintain procedures and standards.
* Completion of regular quality reports.
* Conducting internal audits, including auditing products to ensure adherence to specification, swabs, micros, water tests, GMP audits, lockers, glass and plastic audits.
* To actively promote good manufacturing practices.
* To ensure monitoring equipment is calibrated with accordance to schedule and calibration records are retained.
* To conduct product assessment on finished products against quality attributes to ensure compliance to finished product specification.
* To conduct QA line checks on finished product to ensure all labelling information and date coding is correct and meets legal requirements and shelf life.
* To immediately report any product or process found to be out of specification. Control and document any non-conformances with accordance to company procedure.
* To assist in identification of root cause of non-conformity/complaints and implementation of corrective actions.
* To contribute towards trouble shooting & problem solving within the factory.
* To ensure all related paperwork is completed and documented with accordance to company standard; legible, retained and retrievable.
* To assist the implementation of company QMS process and procedures in the factory.
* To assist Production in maintaining hygienic practices & procedures.
* Compiling Product Manuals and labelling information for all products for effective launch.
* To assist in quality testing of raw materials, end products and packaging materials.
* To carry out cleaning verification and validation to support the EMP.

Job Purpose This role supports the implementation and execution of key food safety microbiological and analytical testing by performing routine quality control activities, and executing testing using approved microbiological and analytical methods to support food safety and quality. * Support testing completion through media preparation, quality control activities, sample collection, and execution of microbial testing on daily basis.
* Support and execute sanitation verification testing, shelf-life studies and other microbiological testing to verify critical limits for critical processes.

* Experience with LIMS (Laboratory Management Systems) and data management preferred.

* Process specimens in the appropriate way, including looking up specimen requirements, centrifuging and separating as necessary, and storing at the appropriate temperature to maintain sample integrity and testing acceptability.
* Ready specimens for transfer to reference laboratories, including completing the required paperwork for transfer and ensuring STAT specimens are processed and transported in a timely manner, including calling a STAT courier and completing the necessary paperwork for the transfer.
* Perform both waived and moderately complex CLIA testing in hematology, urinalysis, and serology areas under the guidance and supervision of an MLT or MT.
* Keep accurate records, such as temperature monitoring, quality control for all laboratory testing and daily, weekly and monthly maintenance.

Licensure/Registration: MLT(ASCP), CLT(NCA), MLT(HEW) or eligible or completion of a Military medical laboratory procedures training courses as a Medical Laboratory Specialist. Certification required within one year of employment.
Experience: Less than 1 year experience required.

Contact with others may involve detailed & lengthy dialogues & exchanges of information. Requires a moderate amount of interpersonal skills.
