JOB DESCRIPTION: While working closely with and under the supervision of a Team Lead and/or the Laboratory Manager, you will be responsible for the following primary duties and responsibilities: Prepare media for tests being performed by the microbiology team Assist in processing samples and perform routine and entry-level laboratory testing, when needed Classify and label samples, according to established protocol Maintain proper laboratory records Complete sample preparation and testing in a timely manner, according to approved SOPs and correct techniques Accountable and responsible for proper laboratory practices Demonstrate knowledge and increase training and experience in maintaining analytical instruments Comply with ALL ARL workplace policies, procedures, and health and safety regulations Clean and sterilize laboratory workspace and equipment Provide support for lab-specific waste management Maintain laboratory cleanliness at all times Communicate the status and any issues regarding assigned testing verbally and in writing Adhere to all GLP, GMP, and ISO regulations as they pertain to the positions functions and duties Document all activities, results, and report back to supervisor Report work progress and state of preparation for testing Stay informed with the latest industry trends, techniques, and best practices Successfully complete all training, including skills and proficiency testing, within required timeframe Complete special projects as assigned JOB REQUIREMENTS AND EXPECTATIONS: Available to work 5 days a week, including weekends as assigned by supervisor Available and adaptable to work weekends and evening shifts, according to testing demands (may work past midnight or early hours, according to demands) Able to converse fluently in English, verbally and in writing Pass all proficiency testing and training courses Ability to skillfully adapt to changing demands Competency in industry-specific or industry-related laboratory techniques and procedures Be able to lift at least 50lbs.
