Job Summary
The Quality Lab Measurement Technician is responsible for conducting precise measurements and tests to ensure product quality and compliance with industry standards. This role involves working closely with the manufacturing and design teams to improve quality standards and maintain accurate records of all testing procedures.
Responsibilities
Conduct Measurements: Perform accurate measurements using various lab instruments and equipment, including Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM).
CMM Programming: Program and operate CMM equipment to perform detailed inspections of precision machined parts. Preferred experience with software such as Zeiss Calypso, Polyworks, or PCDMIS.
GD&T Interpretation: Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications using Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles to ensure accurate measurements and compliance with design requirements.
Collaborate with Design Team: Work closely with the design team to understand and apply GD&T principles in the development and inspection of new products. Provide feedback on design feasibility and suggest improvements based on measurement data
Quality Testing: Conduct routine measurements and analyses of product samples to detect defects and ensure quality.
Data Analysis: Analyze measurement data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Documentation: Maintain detailed records of all tests, measurements, and results.
Compliance: Ensure all testing procedures comply with industry standards and regulations.
Equipment Maintenance: Maintain, troubleshoot, and calibrate lab equipment, including CMM, to ensure accurate measurements
Collaboration: Work closely with the manufacturing team to implement quality improvements.
Safety: Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures in the lab.
Experience & Skills
Experience: Previous experience in a quality lab or manufacturing environment required, with specific experience in CMM programming and operation
Skills: Proficiency in using lab instruments, strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and excellent documentation practices.
Certifications: Relevant certifications such as ASQ or ISO are a plus.
Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, manufacturing environment. Must be a self-starter and able to work independently without supervision.
Education
Associates degree or related technical field required.

Description of responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Build and/or repair dental appliances
Construct prostheses by following the dentist's prescription
Correct dental irregularities by manufacturing fixed or removable appliances
Follow standard operating procedures (SOP's) and dental prescriptions
Adhere to lab processes, procedures, and industry standards
Demonstrate time-management, organization, and prioritization skills
Ensure timely manufacturing of cases
Collaborate with other dental lab technicians and troubleshoot problems
Required experience:
1 year of experience in artistry, CAD/CAM, production, construction, food industry, or any other position requiring manual dexterity (hairdresser, mechanic, jeweler, sewer, carpenter, etc.)
High school diploma or equivalent
Must be able to read and write
Must be a willing worker with a great attitude!
No prior dental experience necessary. We will train you!

Qualifications

Additional skills/abilities: Competency of components of laboratory technology, as appropriate.Verbal ability to communicate with patients and other clientele instructions and other information. Numerical ability to calculate by formula.Form perception, visual acuity in the color spectrum to perform specific lab tests.
