Major Role Description:

Qualifications
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
Degree: physical sciences, life sciences, or engineering that included 30 semester hours in chemistry, supplemented by course work in mathematics through differential and integral calculus, and at least 6 semester hours of physics.
You may qualify if you meet one of the following:
1. GS-7: You must have completed or will complete a 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's from an accredited institution AND must have documented Superior Academic Achievement (SAA) at the undergraduate level in the following:

About the Role
The Laboratory Assistant plays an essential role in the fertility journey by providing critical support in both the andrology and endocrinology laboratories. We are seeking a Laboratory Assistant to join our dedicated team at Pinnacle Fertility- Ohio in Westerville, OH. This is a full-time, onsite position, working Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM. One week per month, the shift will adjust to 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM. Rotating holiday coverage is also required.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with laboratory operations, audits, compliance checks, and reporting, including sample collection and handling.
Assist with patient check-in and check-out processes.
Manage and maintain cryogenic storage equipment, including handling and inventorying cryopreserved specimens (sperm, oocytes, embryos).
Coordinate transportation of cryopreserved specimens with third-party vendors while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Maintain accurate patient records in the electronic medical record (EMR) system and process medical record requests.
Act as a primary point of contact between the laboratory, physicians, and nursing teams for lab-related coordination.
Organize and manage laboratory paperwork, supply inventory, and administrative documentation as well as data submission.
Assist with additional projects and administrative duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
Education: Highschool degree required. Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, or a related science field is preferred.
Experience: 6+ months of laboratory experience outside of coursework is a plus.

About the Role:
We are looking for an energetic and dependable sterile compounding Technician who will serve as a group leader of sterile compounding technicians and/or sterile support staff during daily compounding operations. You will serve as a sterile trainer and evaluator of competency for sterile compounding staff. As a group leader and recognized trainer/evaluator, you will assist Supervising Pharmacists ensure compliance with USP 797, 800 (and other applicable chapters) and to compound sterile medications that are safe and effective for patients, under Pharmacist supervision.
Shift: 6:00am-6:00pm, rotating 3-2-2-3 schedule
You Will:
* Lead a team of sterile compounding technicians and/or sterile support staff in performing sterile compounding activities in compliance with USP 797 and 800 and site SOPs.
* You will help to ensure team members follow safety and environment monitoring and control procedures as outlined in the Site SOPs and that appropriate PPE is worn while executing daily, weekly, and monthly tasks.
* You will serve as an Assigned Trainer and competency evaluator for new hire and ongoing sterile compounding and support staff in USP 797 and 800 required core skills, knowledge, and required competencies such as Garbing and Hand Hygiene, Aseptic Technique, and cleanroom suite cleaning assessments.
* Compound sterile medications.
* Assist with compounding equipment calibration and ensure appropriate use of equipment during daily sterile compounding operations.
* Perform the formulation of the solutions and aseptic filling of the solutions
* Perform daily, weekly and monthly cleanroom suite support responsibilities including, but not limited to, compounding materials and supplies preparation, equipment calibration, cleaning, dishwashing, and sterilization or depyrogenation of equipment, according to facility SOP's.
* Document compounding-related and daily, weekly, and monthly activities according to facility SOPs and as required by USP 797 and 800.
* Coordinate with the Pharmacist-in-charge (PIC), Sterile Compounding Manager, Pharmacist, and/or Lead Sterile Compounding Pharmacist for personnel, quality, compliance and regulatory matters.
* Communicate with Lead Sterile Compounding Pharmacists or Sterile Compounding Pharmacists to report on issues in the cleanroom suite.
* Utilizes equipment as instructed by the pharmacist.
* Completes training as required by USP 797 and 800 (and related chapters).
You Have:
* 2+ years sterile compounding experience or 1+ year sterile compounding plus 1+ year nonsterile compounding experience.
* Current registration as a Certified Pharmacy Technician in the State of Ohio and National Certification (CPhT)
* Certified Compounded Sterile Preparation Technician (CSPT) or willingness to complete in the first year of employment.
* Strong communication skills and can work independently.
* Full time role 40 hours per week.
Preferred:
* 3+ year sterile compounding experience in nonsterile to sterile compounding or 1+ year in sterile-to-sterile compounding.
* Prior experience at a sterile pharmaceutical manufacturer.

What You'll Do:

Central Receiving manages mail and deliveries for the Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory, ensuring that items reach the appropriate team within ODA to support Ohio's agriculture and animal health initiatives.
This position is responsible for:
* Receives accessions and processes clinical samples
* Uses computer & laboratory information management system (LIMS) for accessioning of daily submissions to the Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory (ADDL)
* Participates in day to day operations of the Central Receiving lab section
* Receives a variety of clinical samples (i.e., blood, serum, urine, tissue, swabs, oral fluids, fecal, abortion samples, rabies suspect samples etc.) from clinicians, the necropsy floor, pathologists, authorized field agents & other laboratories & sources
* Opens mail and verifies that submission forms contain required information
* Confirms sample identification, matching paperwork to sample
* Inputs submission information into the LIMS
* Scans submission forms and attaches them to each LIMS case
* Prints case labels and applies them to samples and submission forms
* Answers telephone calls and responds to e-mail correspondence from clients
* Organizes and assigns identification numbers to samples
* Organizes test tube racks and trays
* Participate in on-call rotation with other lab staff
* Provides excellent customer service to external and internal customers
* Assist with daily upkeep of assigned laboratory section & associated equipment such as computer, scanner, barcode readers, and refrigerators
* Participates in the laboratory's biosafety and Quality Management System
* Cleans and disinfects work area
* Maintains work area supplies and equipment
* Performs general housekeeping tasks of laboratory sinks, benches & other laboratory areas
* Orders supplies
* Files archived submission records and participates in laboratory digitization efforts
* Assists laboratory personnel and independently conducts elementary laboratory test procedures (i.e., reagents are ready-to-mix, all testing procedures are outlined in stepwise manner & test systems are visually evaluated, with all possible results being previously defined as to how they will look & require no interpretation) using simple equipment prepares specimens for storage
* Ships specimens to other laboratories for additional testing
This position shall be filled in accordance with the provisions of the OCSEA Collective Bargaining Agreement. ODA bargaining unit members have selection rights before non-bargaining unit members.
