About this Position
The Oklahoma Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory (OADDL) at Oklahoma State University's College of Veterinary Medicine invites candidates to apply for the Sr. Lab Tech position in the Histology department. This position assists in preparing and processing animal tissues for histopathological interpretation by a veterinary pathologist; conducts routine histopathologic techniques; performs the routine duties of primary histotechnician, and conducts special stains; maintains records on tissues and specimens processed and stained for examination by pathologists. Assists in preparing special stain and H&E reagent solutions, as needed and serves as a back-up to the technician in charge of this duty. Maintains the histopathology laboratory and all storage areas in a clean and orderly state. Coordinates with other departments on research or special projects. Assists with clerical duties, including answering the phone, filling out forms, and mailing out laboratory samples as needed.
Required Qualifications
High School/GED (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)
Four years' experience working in a public health, veterinary medical, medical, clinical, or research lab. Post- secondary education may be substituted in lieu of experience.
Certifications, Registrations, and/or Licenses:
Rabies immunization or proof of adequate rabies titer required.

Research Technician I - Yoon Lab Department: Aging & Metabolism Location: Oklahoma City, OK START YOUR APPLICATION Overview and Responsibilities The Yoon Lab within the Aging & Metabolism Research Program at Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation (OMRF) is seeking a highly motivated, organized, and responsible Research Technician to join the team. This position will play a key role in achieving the mission of the lab. We aim to discover cellular and molecular mechanisms of mitochondria-associated neurological diseases. To do this, we implement an experimental pipeline that leverages the combined power of clinical data, genomics analysis, and studies using Drosophila models and patient-derived stem cell models.
We have discovered 5 novel Mendelian mitochondrial diseases including the Harel-Yoon syndrome and the Yoon-Bellen neurodevelopmental syndrome that bear my name (PMID: 27640307; PMID: 32004445; PMID: 33845882; PMID: 28017472; PMID: 34800363). We already established numerous disease models in Drosophila and human iPS cells. Last 5 years, I have trained many students to perform Drosophila genetics, iPS experiments, and molecular and cell biology. Many of them could participate in important studies and be coauthors of articles. We anticipate that motivated students will contribute to publishing new Articles!
Responsibilities will include:
Conducting genetic experiments associated with Drosophila models and/or conducting cell culture experiments with downstream assays such as Western blot and RNA experiments.
Detailed documentation of experiments and results.
Participation in lab meetings.
Minimum Requirements
BS/BA degree in one of the biological sciences, physics, chemistry, or related area, or equivalent years of relevant lab experience.
Must be detail-oriented and work independently as well as a team player.
Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and protocols/procedures.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Proficient in computing basic mathematical operations, i.e., rate, ratio, percent, molarity, and unit conversion.
Strong organizational skills with ability to perform precise and accurate work when dealing with samples and chemicals.

Primarily responsible for the implementation and adherence to Mom's Meals HACCP and Food Safety programs, procedures, and activities in a Ready-to-Eat manufacturing facility. This role monitors all stages of the production process to ensure compliance with all company standards, regulatory standards and to ensure we supply a quality product safe for consumption.
Hours for this role are Monday - Thursday from 2:30pm - 12:30am. Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to
Monitor compliance to sanitation and good manufacturing practices
Perform critical control point checks that include cooking and cooling product temperatures
Ability to accurately complete all required documentation
Perform accuracy checks on thermometers and weight scales
Has the authority to place product that is out of specifications on Quality hold
Has the authority to stop the line from running and/or place product on Quality hold if there is a food safety concern
Must be willing to be trained and comply with all necessary food safety programs, standard operating procedures, and good manufacturing practices as they relate to the food safety management system for their department

High school diploma or GED equivalent
Must be self-motivated and driven to succeed
Must have excellent communication skills

Participates in laboratory quality activities including quality monitoring and auditing, occurrence/deviation documentation and performance improvement. Documents deviations in RL solutions.
Addresses policy deviations or behavioral issues in real time. Documents and reports those issues to the manager for documentation and follow up in Workday.
Conducts team huddles and in-services.
Completes annual competency assessment and is a qualified evaluator.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
Education: Bachelor's Degree which includes: 24 semester hours of medical laboratory technology courses; or 24 semester hours of science courses that include six semester hours of chemistry, six semester hours of biology; and twelve semester hours of chemistry, biology, or medical laboratory technology in any combination required.
Experience: 5 or more years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting with 1-3 years of progressive leadership required.
License/Certification/Registration: Nationally recognized certification through one of the following governing accrediations: ASCP, AMT, AABB, NASKL, ASCLS, HHS, ASHI, AAB, ABB, AMS, CRP, EBPH, Military or NILA required.

Knowledge & Experience: Requires 3 years as an inspector, supplier source auditor, or new product test technician in Quality Assurance/Control Department. A.A.S. degree in a quality-related discipline is preferred. The appropriate combination of education and work experience will be considered.. Must possess intermediate level computer skills in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel & Outlook ) Smartsheet experience a plus. Must exhibit strong attention to detail. The candidate for this position must be able to work independently, is proactive and organized in their daily responsibilities, is team-oriented, and works productively and collaboratively across multiple departments and functions. Ability to use and interpret adjustable measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and scales. Ability to effectively read and interpret documents such as blueprints, designs, method and procedure manuals, production standards, safety and environmental rules and regulations, technical procedures, operating and maintenance instructions.
Essential Functions | Accountabilities | Performance Measures
Monitor production processing via scheduled and random QA audits.
Conduct quality inspections using proper equipment/tools and standardized practices
Document and communicate with the Materials Team, Operations Team, and Management Team any rejection or QAHOLDs that occurs as a result of an in-process and/or incoming product that fails to meet Quality Specifications
Remain current on quality initiative programs and equipment.
Maintain accurate documentation of quality inspection results.
Ensure outgoing products comply with required specifications.
Ensure production personnel are following proper procedure for ongoing production checks.
Notify supervisors when Quality checks aren't being performed by production team.
Enters Audit findings on smartsheet.
Ensure incoming materials comply with established specifications.
Performs internal process and facility audits to comply with CFS and NSF Standards
Manage and assist with problem solving with root cause analyses and document corrective actions for all product deviations that fall under a minor defect category, which do not violate form, fit, or function.
Ensure that all tools, equipment, and devices that require calibration are done according to schedule.
Assist with issuing Quality Bulletins with signoffs when applicable as soon as quality incidents occur.
Make a minimum of 5 safety observations per week.
Regular and punctual attendance, consistently adhere to the assigned work schedule
Comply with all GMP requirements and adhere to all CFS safety policies and procedures

Part-time Description
Under general supervision, the MLT is responsible for performing routine clinical laboratory tests in molecular lab testing, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of results to support patient care. Duties
