Job Description
The Electrophysiology and Catheterization Imaging Technologist performs imaging procedures with a high level of technical skill, requiring independent judgment and ingenuity. They ensure patient safety and proper documentation while maintaining imaging standards.
Responsibilities
Perform imaging procedures at a technical level without constant supervision.
Demonstrate proper positioning and radiographic techniques for diagnostic and interventional procedures.
Ensure radiation safety and document patient exposure.
Support aseptic techniques and patient safety during procedures.
Function in the first assist position and administer contrast as directed.
Maintain quality control and point of care testing standards for devices.
Communicate instructions clearly to patients and assess their understanding.
Utilize proper patient identification protocols and document history accurately.
Ensure imaging files are properly coded and tracked through the PACS system.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred but not required.
ARRT Cardiovascular-Interventional Radiology, Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist, or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist certifications.
Compliance with Act 34 clearance requirements.
