    Overview and Responsibilities The Yu Lab at the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation (OMRF) is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team. We are part of the Cardiovascular Biology Research Program at OMRF. Our research focuses on the interface between cellular metabolism and vascular biology. Specifically, we aim to elucidate the crosstalk between metabolic programs and angiogenic signaling events and to understand the involvement of cellular metabolism in the pathogenesis of vascular diseases. Multidisciplinary strategies will be employed, ranging from novel genetically-modified mouse models to cutting-edge systems biology tools including metabolomics and single-cell transcriptome analysis. The Research Technician will assist with research activities directed toward understanding the roles of cellular metabolism in vascular development and disease. Basic duties will include: Working with laboratory mice PCR genotyping Reagent preparation Ordering supplies General laboratory maintenance and organization Additional responsibilities will include molecular and cellular biology and histology Minimum Requirements Bachelor s degree typically in one of the biological sciences and/or equivalent years of relevant laboratory experience. Familiarity with basic lab techniques in molecular and cellular biology and biochemistry. Strong ability to coordinate day-to-day work, and follow protocols to complete a variety of detailed tasks and assignments. Ability to record detailed procedures and results. Must be organized, take direction, keep meticulous records, and meet all deadlines. Basic computer skills including Internet software, order processing systems, and Microsoft Office software. Excellent oral and written communication skills required. Professionalism and acceptance of diverse personalities and cultures are required, as well as willingness to work collaboratively with others, and independently in areas of proficiency. Preferred Qualifications Interest in genetics, molecular biology, developmental biology, or related fields. Previous experience with laboratory mice and PCR genotyping is a plus but not required. Work Hours Typically Monday through Friday from 8:30AM to 5:00PM.
