MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education: Associate's degree or equivalent as required for Florida state licensure. Experience: Minimum of 2 years of clinical laboratory experience, including 1 year in blood banking. Skills and Abilities: Proficiency in manual and automated laboratory testing methods. Strong organizational and inventory management skills. Effective communication and problem-solving skills. Ability to provide guidance and training to blood bank specialists and new employees. Attention to detail to ensure quality control and compliance. Licenses/Certifications: Valid Florida Clinical Laboratory Technician License. Hematology license/certificate. Valid Florida Driver's License with a clean driving record and reliable transportation. A proper Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) may be required if travel is included with the position. PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS Physical Requirements: Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull objects up to 50 pounds. Ability to stand, walk, kneel, and perform laboratory tasks for extended periods. Ability to travel to off-site locations as needed. May need to come in for an on-call assignment during off hours. Environmental Requirements: Exposure to varying environmental conditions, including blood-borne pathogens. Work environment may include moderate noise levels. Perform quality control (QC), maintenance, validation, and calibration of laboratory equipment, reporting any malfunctions to the director. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
