Job Description
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Understands all specimen requirements and can perform phlebotomy for both adult patients and pediatric patients
Always identify patients with two unique identifiers
Understands LIS and EMR systems to accession and process all lab samples, including outside orders
Transfer orders from EMR to LIS and enter appropriate information
Knows and instructs patients on proper procedure for urine/stool/sputum collection
Knows what vacutainer tubes to draw for which tests and ensures that all specimens are labeled properly
Checks send-out log to be sure all reports have been received, call performing lab if copies of report still pending
Ensures all supply levels are maintained and adequate
Orders supplies as instructed by supervisor
Performs other clinical or administrative office tasks as necessary (if applicable to site)
Prepares samples for transport and knows all specimen processing procedures
Adheres to site-specific workflows
Keeps work area clean, stocked and organized
Packages Biohazardous Waste to prepare for scheduled pick up
Understands and can perform all POCT including Quick Strep, Urine hCG, Urine Dip, Quick Flu, Occult Blood, and Urine Drug Screen
Perform and document QC when necessary
Knows and abides by personnel policies and procedures
Maintains excellent customer service with patients, staff, and physicians
Assists in training new employees as directed
Work on quality improvement initiatives with manager, as directed
Follows all OSHA and CLIA regulations as applied to InterMed
Performs and documents on OSHA Log:
Disinfect counters with 10% bleach daily
Disinfect phlebotomy chairs/area with 10% bleach daily
Check surrounding offices for samples daily
Empty Confidential Trash daily
Clean Centrifuge weekly
Disinfect large waste buckets weekly
Change sharps containers as needed
Monitor and document temperatures
As directed, consistently performs all the following tasks:
“Scanned Lab Composite” workflow daily
Scrub lab schedules to check for orders ahead of appointment times
Perform “no-show” workflow from lab schedules
Ability to work in the processing area independently and without performance concerns
Audits the POCT office logs
If applicable, assists the technologists in the following areas:
Understands and can plant all in-house cultures, including urine cultures, strep cultures (throat and vaginal)
Builds and checks Micro work lists for Urine Cultures, Strep Cultures, and Vaginal Cultures
Disassembles and cleans urinalysis analyzer daily
Orders processing supplies as needed from various vendors and companies
Processing and distributing sample to the appropriate performing departments
Performing QC on waived platforms
Processing urine samples on the automated platform and prepare for microscopic examination
Plating microbiology cultures
Capping and storing samples
Processing Urgent Care samples STAT
Any additional projects within the scope of position, as directed
JOB RESPONSIBILTIES:
Successful completion of a phlebotomy or lab assistant training course required
1 year of phlebotomy experience with all types of patients and processing preferred

The Community Services Director is seeking a responsible individual to perform a variety of responsible technical and analytical duties for the Water Treatment Facility. This position is responsible for conducting all water quality testing, analysis, and reporting to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Work is conducted in a laboratory setting with a focus on accuracy, precision, and adherence to established protocols.
This is a full-time, 40 hour per week, non-exempt position. $26.26 to $38.03 per hour. Excellent benefit offerings! Position is open until filled.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Except as specifically noted, the following functions are considered essential to this position. The listed examples may not include all duties found in this class):
Conducts frequent physical, chemical, and microbiological analyses on water samples from treatment plants, wells, recharge sources, and the distribution system.
a. Performs routine and special sampling (PFAS, MTBE, 1,4-D, UCMR5).
b. Assists other departments with bacteria or special sampling as needed.
Maintains an accurate filing system of digital and hardcopy records of test results, sampling data, water quality complaints, and laboratory activities.
Prepares and submits compliance reports to the Chief Operator/Supervisor and/or regulatory agencies (e.g., NHDES, EPA) in a timely manner.
a. Monitors NHDES One-Stop and master sampling schedule for requirement changes.
b. Tracks sample bottle inventory and coordinates reorders with labs.
Performs calibration and maintenance of laboratory instruments and equipment; schedules annual compliance calibrations.
Manages laboratory chemical and supply inventory, ensuring proper storage and tracking expiration dates.
a. Submits monthly inventory reports to the Chief Operator/Supervisor.
Develops, updates, and implements laboratory procedures (SOPs) to improve efficiency, accuracy, and safety.
a. Communicates procedural changes to operators.
b. Stays current on laboratory methods and safety practices.
Participates in on-call rotation for SCADA monitoring and performs WTP checks on weekends and holidays.

Assists with obtaining quotes and purchase requests for lab services, calibrations, and equipment repairs.
Responds to water quality inquiries and complaints from residents and other departments.
a. Develops SOPs for common water quality concerns.
b. Tracks water quality issues using the Vue-Works layer.
Uses computer systems, spreadsheets, and databases to manage and analyze data.
Develops/assists in creation of database tracking program monitoring water quality results.
Provides general support such as answering calls, assisting customers, and scheduling appointments or meetings.
Maintains effective working relationships with coworkers, public, labs, and reporting agencies.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS: Thorough knowledge of water quality testing procedures and protocols, including physical, chemical, and microbiological analysis. Strong understanding of Federal and State drinking water regulations. Proficiency in the use and calibration of laboratory instruments and equipment. Ability to maintain meticulous and accurate records and reports. Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively with staff and regulatory agencies. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
EDUCATION/LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or equivalent and at least 12 semester units in chemistry or related field at a college or university required ; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, environmental science, or a related field is preferred. At least two (2) years of experience in a laboratory setting, preferably in water quality analysis, or any equivalent combination of education and experience which demonstrates possession of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license. Grade I Water Works Operator Certification is required within the first 6 months of hire.

The Medication Technician must complete a state approved training course in drug administration and receive a certificate of satisfactory successful completion.
Med-Techs will be evaluated on their competency by the RCD each quarter
Must have current certification as a nursing assistant or have successfully completed the certified home health aide or homemaker/personal care homemaker training program

Salary: Salary offered is based on years of experience. 0\-years of experience is the minimum and 29\/30\-years of experience is the maximum.
Shift\/Weekend Rotation: Monday - Friday; 8\-hour shifts: 7am - 3:30pm
Call Schedule: $4.00\/hour while on call \- minimum of 8\-shifts\/month with 1\-2 weekends\/month included in the minimum requirement
Call Back: minimum of 2\-hours of pay when called in at time & one half
Volume\/Caseload: 30 plus scheduled cases per week
Types of Procedures: TCAR, AAA, Peripheral vascular, Pacemakers, Defibrillators, Right and Left Heart Cath, STEMI, and Stroke
SHIFT DIFFERENTIALS (pay is based on majority of hours worked)

The Cath Lab Technologist works in the cardiovascular catheterization laboratory performing a number of special duties including, but not limited to, operating all of the radiographic fluoroscopic equipment while performing general diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Works with an provides assistance to all physicians, technologists, and nurses, to maintain a customer friendly environment in the laboratory. Participates and shares with call rotation, while adhering to variable shift scheduling. Quality:
Participates in the Laboratory Quality Control (QC), Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Improvement (QI) policies and projects
Perform CLIA waived testing in accordance with regulations and department best practices as trained and deemed competent
Perform pre-analytical sample processing within the Chemistry, Hematology and Microbiology sections as trained and deemed competent
Maintains competency as required by CLIA regulations and Laboratory policy
Assures quality of care by adhering to hospital and Laboratory policies and procedures
Clerical:
Performs Outpatient Laboratory Registrations to include (but not limited to): new patient profiles, consent to treat, insurance verification and diagnosis/ICD-10 entry.
Performs Physician Laboratory order review for completeness and medical necessity.
Performs electronic and/or manual order entry and reviews any ABNs with patients
Performs preparation, distribution, storage and retrieval of Laboratory reports

Specimen Collection and Processing:
Obtains patient samples in accordance with regulations and best practices

Phlebotomy:
Performs venipuncture in accordance with regulations and best practices
Performs capillary blood collection in accordance with regulations and best practices.
Performs venipuncture and capillary collections utilizing age-appropriate technique
Provides information to the patient within the scope of their practice, referring technical questions to the appropriate Supervisor, Manger, Medical Director or patient's physician
