Job Description:
We are seeking a contractor Lab Technician to support the Cell Therapy Development and Operations team. Responsibilities include maintaining lab equipment, troubleshooting, repairing, cleaning, and implementing emergency response plans. The role also involves assisting with efficiency improvement programs, managing equipment moves, and collaborating with internal and external partners. Key Responsibilities:

Ensure results are received from external testing sites, and scan results into EHR ensuring results are sent to providers
• Maintenance of Equipment: Maintenance duties include recording temperatures, defrosting freezers, and cleaning laboratory equipment. Ensures that all equipment is functioning correctly and adheres to maintenance schedules, contributing to the safe and efficient operation of the lab
• Quality Improvement and Compliance: Contributes to Quality Improvement and Lean Process Improvement activities. They complete all mandatory learning requirements on time and attend and participate in department, team, and committee meetings. Compliance with all department and location-specific policies and procedures is mandatory

Your key responsibilities will be/what you'll do:

Identify opportunities and implement process improvement, best practices, and processes that assure work methods are efficient. Coordinate the evaluation of alternate reagents and equipment for potential future process integration.
With the Laboratory Manager, CLIA Director, Vice President, and/or staff, establish departmental performance metrics and quality indicators. Communicate performance to the laboratory.
Ensure staff are customer-focused and understand the needs of the customer. Resolve customer service issues in collaboration with the Manager, CLIA Director, and/or Vice President.
Assure Quality and Regulatory Standards are met.
Comply with all applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as written.
Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Ensure quality practices are followed and error reporting is documented.
Investigate and document occurrences that contribute to errors, accidents, or adverse outcomes, including risk assessment. Report results to the manager in a timely fashion. Coordinate the completion of Proficiency Testing (PT) CAP/AABB Surveys. Ensures rotation of proficiency testing among all staff. Directly reports survey results to CAP/AABB or delegates to the appropriate Lead Scientist.
Ensure the integrity of written and electronic records generated by the department.
Coordinate laterally within Transfusion Services to ensure processes are optimized, resources are appropriately used, and quality practices are consistently applied.
Oversee 24-hour REES monitoring for equipment, in concert with Managers.
Develop written standard operating procedures as assigned.
Assure a safe work environment by reviewing safety practices, developing safe practices, communicating with staff, and ensuring compliance. Evaluate safety reports and remediate problems.
Ensures that employees are scheduled appropriately to complete CLIA Competency Assessments and that such assessments are completed on time.
Operational Support
Participate with interdepartmental project teams when the scope of those projects affects the daily operations of IRL.
Partner with laboratory leadership for the implementation of genomics testing into laboratory processes.
Assure the coordination of the screening, typing, packing, and/or shipment of rare units and rare plasma/serum samples for national exchange.
Process unusual or complex requests for service or information. Consult with laboratory leadership regarding these requests as applicable.
Coordinate special research and development projects.
Maintain software/electronic applications used for daily operations (Antigen Plus, maintain Macros, rare donor list, etc.).
Coordinate training of medical fellows during rotation and daily report review with the Medical Director and trainees.
As needed, assist the program director for the MT/MLT or SBB programs to provide lectures or practical training to students.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience:
Must qualify as General Supervisor, High Complexity Testing, under CLIA personnel requirements found in Subpart M of the Code of Federal Regulations.

Ensure staff are customer-focused and understand the needs of the customer. Resolve customer service issues in collaboration with the Manager, CLIA Director, and/or Vice President.
Assure Quality and Regulatory Standards are met.
Comply with all applicable Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as written.

Investigate and document occurrences that contribute to errors, accidents, or adverse outcomes, including risk assessment. Report results to the manager in a timely fashion. Coordinate the completion of Proficiency Testing (PT) CAP/AABB Surveys. Ensures rotation of proficiency testing among all staff. Directly reports survey results to CAP/AABB or delegates to the appropriate Lead Scientist.
Ensure the integrity of written and electronic records generated by the department.
Coordinate laterally within Transfusion Services to ensure processes are optimized, resources are appropriately used, and quality practices are consistently applied.
Oversee 24-hour REES monitoring for equipment, in concert with Managers.
Develop written standard operating procedures as assigned.
Assure a safe work environment by reviewing safety practices, developing safe practices, communicating with staff, and ensuring compliance. Evaluate safety reports and remediate problems.
Ensures that employees are scheduled appropriately to complete CLIA Competency Assessments and that such assessments are completed on time.
Operational Support
Participate with interdepartmental project teams when the scope of those projects affects the daily operations of IRL.
Partner with laboratory leadership for the implementation of genomics testing into laboratory processes.
Assure the coordination of the screening, typing, packing, and/or shipment of rare units and rare plasma/serum samples for national exchange.
Process unusual or complex requests for service or information. Consult with laboratory leadership regarding these requests as applicable.
Coordinate special research and development projects.
Maintain software/electronic applications used for daily operations (Antigen Plus, maintain Macros, rare donor list, etc.).
Coordinate training of medical fellows during rotation and daily report review with the Medical Director and trainees.
As needed, assist the program director for the MT/MLT or SBB programs to provide lectures or practical training to students.

The Lab Assistant provides customer service by way of technical and facilities support for students and faculty within the lab or classroom environment. Technical support extends to troubleshooting general computing or printing issues and providing knowledge support to users of the key applications provided in each lab. About the Department
The Information Technology Services (ITS) division is comprised of six departmental teams: The Office of the Vice President, Digital Media Services, Infrastructure, Integration, Technical Support Services, and Office of IT Business Operation. ITS supports all campus computing - both academic and administrative. The division manages networking and server components, performance and quality of all college websites, the web portal, software and application development, as well as data and administrative system support. ITS provides in-person workshops and training to faculty and staff, and offers an array of video production services including live streaming campus events as well as producing original programming to support college activities. ITS broadcasts 24/7 programming for the College and outlying community on the College Channel television station.

Summary:

Support both military and commercial programs such as 777X, 737MAX, 787, P-8, Tanker, and others.
Deliver products and services that meet the highest technical and quality standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies, embracing first-time quality.
Plan, conduct, and document tests on measurement and test equipment
Coordinate test requirements and determine methods and capabilities

Requirements:
AA degree in a related discipline and 1+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
3+ years of calibration and certification experience, or equivalent education/experience
Experience with flow, pressure, linear measurements, temperature/humidity, electrical, or other physical metrology processes
Must be a U.S. Citizen (as defined by ITAR).
Preferred Skills:

Job Description
Location: Iraq
The Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) is responsible to provide comprehensive health services to DOS, DOD, and contractor personnel stationed in Iraq. The MLT performs lab tests and procedures, mostly comprising of microscopic, bacteriological, hematologic, immunologic, and chemical diagnostic analyses on samples of tissue, blood, urine, stool, synovial fluid and semen. The MLT looks for clues to the absence, presence, and extent of the causes and progression of diseases through accurate and efficient lab tests.
Key Responsibilities:
Collect and process biological specimens for laboratory testing.
Conduct routine and specialized tests in hematology, microbiology, chemistry, and blood bank.
Maintain laboratory equipment and troubleshoot any technical issues.
Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean laboratory environment.
Record and report test results accurately and in a timely manner.
Collaborate with pathologists and other medical staff to interpret results and ensure quality patient care.
Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Actively participates in Mass Casualty exercises and events.
Completes required organizational compliance education, including assigned requirements that are client-specified, for Joint Commission Healthcare Staffing Services certification or other regulatory bodies.

Qualifications
Basic Requirements/Certifications:
Minimum of 3 years recent experience as Medical Laboratory Technician including 6 months within the last year.
Certified as a medical laboratory technician through the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP), the American Medical Technologists (AMT), the National Credentialing Agency for Laboratory Personnel (NCALP) or the Board of Registry of the American Association of Bioanalysis (AAB).
Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Must be able to read, write and speak English to effectively communicate.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
Experience on a military site working as a government subcontractor or prime contractor is preferred.
Education Required:
Associate's degree in medical laboratory technology or related field.
Physical Requirements:
Must meet pre-deployment physical requirements.
Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods.
May require bending, stooping, and lifting to 25 lbs.
Other Special Qualifications:
US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card is required.
Valid US Passport with at least 18 months before expiration date. Must maintain a current passport during your stay in Iraq.
Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance, specifically an MRPT. Applicants with current clearances are preferred.
Must be able to relocate to Iraq for the duration of the project.
Must be able to read, write, and speak English to effectively communicate.

Obtain appropriate drawings, specification, documents and/or sketches, using online computing systems.
Perform system installation measurement using general test equipment (e.G., oscilloscopes, power supplies, and meters of various types) and troubleshoot if measurement are not within specification.
Install, remove, or modify experimental/production aircraft wiring using various mechanical and electrical hand tools to bring wiring to engineering specifications per non-conformance reports, and specifications.
Troubleshoot and repair faults, as required.
Assist in the development method and procedures to diagnose and correct malfunctions when methods and procedures have not been established.
