We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral scientist (1-2 years of experience following terminal degree) to join an NIH/NCI-funded drug discovery laboratory. The ideal candidate has strong expertise in the design and synthesis of small molecules, along with classical structure determination using modern spectroscopic methods (¹H, ¹³C, ¹⁹F NMR) and mass spectrometry (MS). You will bring fresh energy and ideas to ongoing discovery efforts and actively contribute to the research program.
Working independently but in close cooperation and in consultation with the Principal Investigator and other Research Scientists, the Postdoctoral Scientist will perform routine and complex laboratory procedures throughout training period. May develop, adapt, and implement new research techniques and protocols.
Analyzes and interprets data. May assist in preparation of grant proposals. Participates in publications and presentations as author or co-author. Not responsible for generating grant funds.
Key Responsibilities
Design, synthesize, purify, and characterize small-molecule compounds.
Perform structure elucidation using ¹H/¹³C/¹⁹F NMR and MS; maintain meticulous experimental records.
Propose hypotheses, plan experiments, and interpret data to drive hit-to-lead optimization.
Author independent reports, manuscripts, and presentations; contribute to grant/research proposals.
Collaborate effectively with PI, staff scientists, students, and research assistants; help mentor junior team members.
Proactively identify technical challenges and propose innovative solutions.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities

May participate in publications and presentations as author or co-author.
Designs and performs experiments. Will keep appropriate experimental records and documentation and analyze the results with the Principal Investigator.

Qualifications
Requirements:
Doctorate (MD, PhD, VMD, or DDS) in area directly related to field of research specialization.
Desirable Qualifications
Experience in small-molecule synthesis and/or natural products' synthesis.
Experience in anticancer drug discovery research.
Demonstrated ability in organic synthesis.
Demonstrated ability to generate independent reports, publications, and ideas.
Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with laboratory members, including students and/or assistants.

Position Overview/Job Summary:

The Quality Control Technician is responsible to ensure food safety and quality of plant through enforcement of HACCP, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) are followed by all personnel and to confirm each product meets specifications and quality parameters.
Essential Job Functions:
Performing pre-operational inspections at beginning of shift or production line changeovers to achieve on-time start-up and first-time quality.
Collect raw material samples upon receipt and report any discrepancies to Quality Manager.
Verify correct raw materials and packaging are being picked, staged, and used in production.
Determine the acceptability of products using visual inspections, sampling, and testing protocols (when necessary).
Perform detail-oriented tasks to support production such as checking legible lot codes, “best by” dates, container seals, handling production line rejects, etc.
Enforce good manufacturing practice
Provide support to the production department to minimize downtime and run efficiently.
Maintain orderly paperwork and verify accurate documentation among production, quality, sanitation, maintenance, warehouse, and R&D departments.
Organize production and quality records by following established protocol.
Perform, log, and verify metal detector checks and provide training to production coworkers.
Escalate issues of non-conforming products in a timely manner to management and segregate or place on hold.
Interact and support cross-functional department personnel and adapt to change in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work with minimum supervision.
Follow and enforce personal safety procedures and escalate to management.

Position Summary
Temporary, Staff, Part Time, Non-Exempt, Non-Benefitted position through 8/31/2026 (Appointment may be renewed annually based upon availability of funds, availability of work and satisfactory job performance).
Salary: $18.00-$25.00 per hour.
Location: CSUSB Campus.
Work Schedule
19 hours per week. Schedule to be arranged, Monday through Friday between the hours of 9:00AM to 5:00PM. Some nights and weekends may be required.

Typical Activities
Under minimal supervision of the Principal Investigator, the Lab Research Technician will work independently to:
Design and perform biochemistry and molecular biology experiments including protein expression and purification, transformations, plasmid preparations, gel electrophoresis, and binding assays, and analyze binding data on Prism.
Write and modify laboratory Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as needed.
Understand and adhere to laboratory safety guidelines.
Keep organized records of experiments and results through the use of a lab notebook and standard word processing programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology or biochemistry.
Experience:
At least 6 months of experience conducting research in a biochemistry or molecular biology research lab.
Other:
Experience working in a research lab performing PCR-based application, protein expression from e. coli, and purification, transformations, plasmid preparations and gel electrophoresis.
Experience designing and conducting protein-protein binding assays.
Familiarity with using the following laboratory equipment: AKTA FPLC systems, centrifuges, programmable orbital shakers, plate readers, thermocyclers.
Experience maintaining laboratory Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Experience with MS Office and GraphPad Prism
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with PCR-based applications, protein expression and purification, transformations, plasmid preparations and gel electrophoresis. protein-protein binding assays, AKTA FPLC systems.

Lab Assistant
Laboratory technician job in Irvine, CA
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Upon specimen arrival, properly marks the location of testing for each ordered test on the accompanying requisition.
Ensures that the correct specimen is collected for each test ordered, and that the tube types submitted are written in the left margin of the requisition.
Ensures that the patient's full name, date/time of collection, and phlebotomist' number are filled in on the requisition, and that the specimen bar codes (with appropriate letter prefix) are placed on all patient specimens.
Responsible for informing a facility, and filling out appropriate paperwork, if a redraw is needed due to: PT & PTT that are QNS; missing or incorrectly spelled name on requisition or specimen; mislabeled accession number and/or name; specimen not received
Taking a redraw order from a CLS if any specimen is unsuitable for the test ordered, due to the integrity, quantity and/or suitability of the specimen for the lab test required.
Ensures that all patient requisitions are scanned into the Filebound program.
Properly centrifuges all appropriate specimens for correct times to insure adequate serum or plasma for required testing.
Routes in-house specimens to correct lab benches for testing.
Routes reference lab specimens, with a copy of the requisition, to the reference lab desk for inclusion into the TRK Sendout Manifest for the Burbank lab.
Prepares reference lab coolers correctly, with proper paperwork, and according to federal guidelines for “Biological Substances - Category B.”
Prepares a copy of the DL requisition for any local reference lab with the DL account number, and tests to be done by this lab clearly marked.
Whether a cooler is sent to the airport or a courier must be sent to a local reference lab, Dispatch must be notified for the transfer.
Regularly reviews in-house testing areas for completed specimens so they can electronically store them for any future add-on tests or repeats.
Proper Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn at all times to protect the processor from any infectious material.
SKILLS|EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or equivalent and minimum of 2 months of training in specimen collection if no prior experience noted.
Proper knowledge of specimen collection appropriate to the test ordered, i.e., requirements for lab test(s)

Laboratory technician job in Tustin, CA
Entry level laboratory analyst for work with GC-ECD samples. Duties include extraction/analysis of samples. Instrument maintenance, cleaning labware, preparation of reagents and standards. Following all laboratory protocol, following all standard operating procedures (SOPs) and adhering to any and all laboratory quality assurance protocols. Ideal Candidate will have experience with:
Sample Analysis: Perform sample preparation, chemical analysis, and quantification of chemicals in accordance with EPA and standard methods
Equipment Operation: Utilize advanced laboratory equipment such as Gas Chromatography (GC - FID, ECD, TCD), ICP, ICP-MS, CVAAS, GC-MS, UV-VIS analyses, balances, ovens, and more.
