Assists the Laboratory Resources Coordinator with various duties as assigned. Responsible for maintaining adequate supply inventory levels for all laboratory departments. Responsible for receiving inventory, stocking inventory, reconciliation of packing slips, and resolution with vendors. Performs all forms of clerical duties as assigned.
Responsibilities:
Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
Assists with maintaining adequate supply inventory levels for all laboratory departments by performing weekly, bi-monthly, and monthly inventory, as assigned.
Responsible for receiving inventory, stocking inventory, and reconciliation of packing slips. Responsible for problem resolution with vendors, and other entities, as assigned.
Assists with supply orders by entering into the HSS ordering system; places orders to the vendor, as assigned.
Assists with completing monthly reports, as assigned.
Assists with the processing and maintenance of laboratory records and reports; audits/reconciles invoices, as assigned.
Assists with obtaining demographic information for STD reports; distributes/files as required.
Miscellaneous duties such as copying, scanning, printing, organization of files, filing, etc. Creates correspondence, letters, and memos as requested. Creates graphs and meeting materials for presentation via Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Publisher, and Word software, as requested.
Works as a team member to perform and complete all assignments, to provide timely results on a daily basis. Completes tasks or special projects within the time frame allowed per any guidelines established as assigned by Laboratory Resources Coordinator, Section Supervisor, Manager, or Director.
Continuing education and development - attends, listens by tape, or reads material of 10-12 in-house educational programs per year.
Practices safety, infection control, and security as defined by the hospital department and section policy and procedure manuals; follows all safety and infection control procedures including wearing appropriate PPE for assigned job functions; disposes of biohazardous materials and hazardous chemicals as established by the departmental policy; all patient information, including lab results, are maintained in the strictest of confidence, limited to health care professionals needing this information to perform patient care. xevrcyc

Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria
Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures

ASCP or AMT certification is preferred
Ability to work independently and within a team environment
Proficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems is a plus
High level of attention to detail along with strong communication and organizational skills
Must be able to pass a standardized color vision screen

Position Overview
Provide inspection, testing services, and documentation for ready mix plant facilities. Develop and maintain relationships with key customers, facility managers, DOT personnel, State, Parish, and Municipal personnel. Develop and maintain relationships with material suppliers. The Quality Control Technician will assist the company in elevating the customers' perception and general quality of our mix designs, achieving the elimination of lost loads, the generation of backup data necessary for mix optimization and overseeing the inspection process of DOT jobs.
Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
* Create an attitude of Safety, contribute to the safe operation of the department; maintain a safe, clean work area.
* Use accepted methods to inspect, sample, and test materials for the purpose of quality control.
* Sample and test mixtures to stay in compliance with contract specifications and quality control tolerance.
* Follow quality control plans and guidelines as assigned.
* Responsible for ensuring the proper mix design, scale weights and water demand of mix designs at batch plants.
* Performs physical tests on ready mix concrete at plant, such as slump, entrained air, unit weight and yield, time of setting and compressive strength.
* At point of delivery, spot checks sample physical properties as above and discusses necessary adjustments in batch weights with Manager, plus observes workability, finish ability, and contractor's use or misuse of product.
* Performs on-site surveys of fleets and facilities producing products so as to be able to identify delivery problems and recommend solutions.
* Performs physical tests on ready mix concrete aggregates, such as gradations, decants, sand equivalency, specific gravity and density, absorption.
* Monitor and test process functions and materials daily to ensure our products meet or exceed requirements of the appropriate agency or customer.
* Prepare and record accurate information; maintain test results database./ Keeps a written daily log of activities and observations.
* Obtain required certifications in a timely manner.
* Maintain all laboratory equipment, keeping track of all certification paperwork on lab scales and other equipment that requires annual re-certification.
* Follow directions of manager as to daily tasks and expectations for each specific duty.

Job Duties
Properly orients tissue in paraffin embedding medium ensuring all surfaces such as epidermis, dermis, mucosal, lumen and inked margins, are embedded and sectioned on the same plane.
Prepares tissue or slides for Special Procedures such as send outs, EM, IF, Cell Flow, Cytogenetic, including packaging arranging transportation, documentation and billing.
Assists in managing workload and productivity by adjusting schedule when necessary.
Maintains an adequate cut supply of Positive (+) control slides and documents on Control Tissue QC log, the case number and QC date for special stains.
Completes Pathologist's, Supervisor's and management team's requests within 24 hours, notifying them of any delay.
Cleans and maintains reagents tissue processors, embedding center, microtomy equipment, H&E stainer in excellent condition, keeping all work areas clean and documenting QC as required.
Accommodates special needs of the section organization by volunteering to do any work/task when needed technical or nontechnical areas due to inclement weather, electrical power outages, computer downtime or other critical times.
Follows safety guidelines as outlined for Department/Institution and documents instances appropriately.
