The Lab Technician will utilize a solid foundation of basic laboratory techniques and experience, such as flow cytometry and sperm physiology. Under the supervision of the Lab Manager, the Lab Technician will learn how to operate several sorting units at one time. RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES
Arrive on time for all scheduled shifts and communicate with all team members in a professional manner.
Operate and maintain sorters and lab computers for data entry.
Participate in daily production of sexed semen with emphasis on sterility and semen quality.
Perform daily job duties to include sorter startup, calibration, sort setup and shutdown. In addition, sorter cleaning, sterilization and bacterial testing.
Use sterile techniques at all times to avoid contaminating any laboratory areas, samples or instrumentation.
Use various software applications, such as spreadsheets, relational databases, email, internet, statistical packages, and graphics packages to assemble, manipulate and/or format data and/or test reports.
Use and comply with universal safety precautions to protect self and co-workers from biohazardous materials.
Exhibit proper handling of potentially hazardous chemical and biological agents and/or radiation sources in the workplace.
Monitor inventory levels and proper storage of materials and supplies in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Keep current on knowledge of vendors and suppliers of materials specific to the laboratory requirements.
EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma or equivalent
Bachelor's Degree preferred
2+ years' related experience or equivalent education
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to work any shift; including evenings, nights and weekends.
Proficient knowledge in Microsoft Excel, Word, Access

Job Description
Essential Functions:
* Performs extensive sleep disorders testing for diagnostic purposes and maintains records of reports as observed by Director of Diagnostic Services.
* Identifies, recognizes normal/abnormal patterns of sleep and scores the following sleep/wake stages of the recording using the standard criteria (Awake, Stage 1, 2, 3, 4 and REM Sleep). Maintains back up diskettes of all testing.
* Documents during recording: body position, complaints, and intervention or treatments. Recognizes and the source identified for high frequency interference, low frequency interference, and unstable or wavering DC baseline.
* Monitors patient understanding, effort, and tolerance throughout testing procedure and documents appropriately.
* Reviews patient records, physician orders, protocols, and data to demonstrate ability for interpretation of subjective and objective information for patient assessment and order validation. Seeks guidance from Director/Supervisor and Medical Director for unresolved issues.
* Performs daily calibration and periodic maintenance of all diagnostic testing equipment, records results on maintenance records per departmental policy and reference manuals.
* Assists other members of the staff maintain skills in performing diagnostic testing.
* Participates in the orientation, mentorship and education of personnel and students. Provides formal and informal teaching/learning opportunities to assist personnel to achieve and maintain competence necessary for safe and effective practice.
* Investigation and evaluation of new products, procedures, and equipment as they directly relate to The Sleep Center.
* Consistently assess, identify, demonstrate the ability to communicate and address special needs of patients that are appropriate to the patient specific age group (neonates Birth - 1 month), (pediatrics 1 month - 12 years), (adolescent 1 years), (adults 1 years), (Geriatric 65+ years) when directly or indirectly providing treatment, testing or patient care and assess their level of understanding.
* Participates in the evaluation of customer satisfaction as well as adherence to the Guest Relation Standards.

About the Job We're looking for a careful and organized Lab Technician to help test our dairy products and keep our food safe and high-quality. You'll collect samples, run tests, and record results using lab equipment.
What You'll Do
Test dairy products like cheese, butter, and powdered milk.
Spot trends or issues if results are off and help figure out why.
Use and maintain lab machines and equipment.
Collect and prepare samples safely.
Send samples to outside labs if needed.
Do basic microbiology testing (like using Petrifilm or plating).
Handle chemicals safely.
Keep accurate records following lab standards.
Take part in training and practice testing.
Follow safety and hygiene rules (GMPs).
Help with special tasks like cheese grading, milk testing, and protein/fat analysis.
What We're Looking For Required:
High school diploma or GED
Basic computer skills
Preferred:
Associate or Bachelor's degree in a related field
2+ years of lab experience in food processing
Bilingual (English/Spanish)

Responsibilities
Acute care setting in a Level 1 trauma center
Work in a cardiac cath lab with 8 fluoro rooms and 1 minimally invasive room
Duties include scrubbing, circulating, and monitoring peripheral/vascular cases, right and left heart catheterizations, and assisting with device implants and EP cases
Utilizes XIM (division of Witt), EPIC EMR, Pyxis, Xcelera, and Siemens and Philips fluoroscopy systems
4x10 hour day shifts with varying start times (0530-1600, 0630-1700, 0730-1800)
On-call 1-2 times per week and one weekend every 3-4 weeks, with 30-minute response time
No floating to other units
Orientation focuses on XIM monitoring and developing scrubbing and circulating proficiency
Ceil blue scrubs are provided
All clinicians must badge in and out at the facility
Returning travelers with past employment at this health system must have a separation date at least 6 months prior to consideration
Local candidates living within 80 miles may be accepted but are subject to an adjusted pay rate
Requirements
Minimum of 2 years cardiac cath lab or related procedural experience required
Current ACLS and BLS certifications from AHA required
RCIS or RCES certification preferred
Experience with EMR charting in EPIC preferred
Proficiency with Siemens and Philips fluoroscopy equipment and peripheral/vascular procedures
License required if applicable
