This position is accountable for the billing and collections of Laboratory services maximize reimbursement for those services rendered, review and audit reference lab charges, workqueues, and audit files in relation to billing issues. This position will primarily handle some insurance billing issues, correcting errors, educating staff, as well as client billing issues in relation to the Renown Laboratory. This position is responsible for following up with physicians regarding items holding up accounts in coding including orders, diagnosis, etc. Responsible for researching and working with departments, revenue integrity and billing regarding accounts that are hitting coding work queues for edits. Nature and Scope: High standards of courteousness, performance, and respect for confidentiality are essential. This position has intermittent contact with patients, family member's, insurance companies, physician offices, clients, and various hospital department personnel. The majority of this contact is done on the phone, and phone etiquette is required. A portion of this contact is done in the office, as patients or other office personnel may need to speak to you in person. This position must keep up on changes involving billing, policies and procedures and provide support/help to all other laboratory representatives. This position will work with contracting to develop and keep an up-to-date list of current insurance providers for the department in order to support laboratory staff. This position is the primary point of contact for billing issues in relation to the Renown Laboratory. This includes but is not limited to; working billing claim edits, medical necessity, registration errors, denials, HIS workqueues, ICD-9 resubmissions, insurance errors, and adding on verbal requests for testing. This position is also the primary person responsible for all client billing, collection and posting of payments, reconciliation of accounts, review of reference lab bills, building new clients in LIS, and building new tests in LIS and AR system. This position will investigate/audit any billing issues in the LIS and HIS systems and will develop a working relationship with the CBO and accounting department. This position has the authority to work within established guidelines, solve problems as they may arise, and schedule work time for each different aspect of the job. Overtime may be required. The schedule is 4 x 10 hrs shifts, 7a-5p, plus call: one week night per week (14 hrs) one full weekend (Fri-Sun) every two weeks.Our lab does diagnostic, PCI, EP, devices, and a little bit of structural. The Cath Lab Technologist assists physicians in the performance of diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology, and other cardiovascular procedures. The technologist operates specialized imaging and monitoring equipment, ensures patient safety and comfort, and maintains a sterile environment during procedures. Key Responsibilities: Prepare the catheterization laboratory and patient for procedures by ensuring all necessary equipment, supplies, and instruments are available and functioning properly. Assist the cardiologist during diagnostic and interventional procedures such as angioplasty, stent placement, pacemaker implantation, and electrophysiology studies. Operate fluoroscopy, hemodynamic monitoring, and recording equipment to capture and analyze images and data during procedures. Maintain strict sterile technique and assist in the setup and breakdown of sterile fields. Monitor patient vital signs and electrocardiograms (ECG) throughout the procedure, reporting changes to the physician promptly. Administer contrast media and medications under physician supervision, following hospital protocols. Document procedure details, patient data, and equipment usage accurately in the electronic medical record. Ensure radiation safety practices for patients, staff, and self. Maintain equipment through regular cleaning, calibration, and preventive maintenance checks. Participate in emergency call rotation as required. Support quality assurance, inventory control, and continuous improvement initiatives within the Cath Lab. Qualifications: Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology, Cardiovascular Technology, or a related field.
