Essential Work Functions:
Perform complex laboratory tests and interpret results across various lab disciplines, such as blood bank
Oversee and validate test results, troubleshoot discrepancies, and approve diagnostic reports before release
Operate, calibrate, and maintain sophisticated lab instruments and automated analyzers
Ensure compliance with AABB, CAP, CLIA, FDA, and other regulatory standards, actively preparing for audits and inspections
Conduct advanced immunohematology testing, including antigen identification and antibody identification
Develop and implement laboratory policies, procedures, and quality assurance programs
Assist in training and mentoring lab staff
Supervise lab personnel, assign workloads, and provide performance evaluations as needed
Maintain accurate records of laboratory findings, quality control measures, and instrument maintenance
Communicate critical results to physicians and healthcare providers in a timely manner
Investigate transfusion reactions and other serologic discrepancies, providing timely and accurate reports
Make technical decisions regarding specimen suitability, troubleshooting, and protocol modifications
Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice
Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards

* Perform weld and NDE (VT/PT/MT/UT) inspections on various stainless steel weldments and fabricated equipement
* Inspect and report on materials, services, processes, and products using measuring instruments and techniques to ensure conformance with the company's quality standards

* Participates in problem solving and continuous improvement projects
* Represent Wagstaff when interacting with auditors, customers, suppliers and visitors

Requirements

* Candidates must be physically able to perform inspections in a manufacturing environment, including the operation of overhead cranes, jibs, and forklifts, after undergoing company training
* Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office business software
* Detail-oriented, accurate, and thorough
Preferred candidate qualifications:
* Current AWS Certified Weld Inspector (CWI) with NDE Level II credentials (VT/PT/MT/UT) or the ability to quickly acquire NDE Level II credentials with company-provided training.
* Experience with AWS D1.1 & 1.6 and ASME Section VIII & B31.3 weld inspections highly desirable.

Working Environment
While performing the duties of this job, work is performed primarily in an adequately lit, well ventilated, climate controlled general office environment. Close computer work is regularly required. The work usually involves minimal physical exertion. The noise level in the general office environment is usually moderate.
This job may require occasional or more frequent interaction with employees on the manufacturing shop floor. While on the shop floor, the employee may be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risks of moving equipment and parts, and other risks associated with a manufacturing environment. Essential Functions:

At least 2 years of experience conducting laboratory testing and reporting.
Professional knowledge of and experience with laboratory safety, laboratory occupational hazards, and OSHA compliance.
The ability to utilize standardized scientific literature and develop effective written and oral reports that are clear, accurate, and logical.
The ability to keep precise and detailed records for the preparation of technical reports.
Experience using Microsoft applications (SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Preferred Skills and Experience:
Active TS/SCI clearance.
Five or more years of wet chemistry laboratory experience.
Experience with Adobe Photoshop.
Prior military or law enforcement experience is a plus.
Other Requirements:
This is a non-remote, full-time on-site position.
Some after-hours or short-term shift work may be required to support urgent customer needs, including weekends and holidays.
Occasional travel may be required (0-10%).
