    Our team is involved with pre-silicon design verification for custom IP. A critical requirement of the verification flow is the requirement of legal and realistic stimulus of a custom Machine Learning Accelerator Chip. Content creation is built using formal methods that model legal behavior of the design and then solving the problem to create the specific assembly tests. The entire frame work for creating these custom tests is developed using a SMT solver and custom software code to guide the solution space into templated scenarios. This highly visible and innovative role requires the design of this solving framework and collaborating with design verification engineers, hardware architects and designers to ensure that interesting content can be created for the projects needs. Key job responsibilities Develop an understanding for a custom machine learning instruction set architecture. Model correctness of instruction streams using first order logic. Create custom API's to allow control over scheduling and randomness. Deploy algorithms to ensure concurrent code is safely constructed. Create coverage metrics to ensure solution space coverage. Use novel methods like machine learning to automate content creation. This position also includes oversight of the Boiler Water Chemistry Program to help extend boiler and turbine life. **Duties & Responsibilities** Includes, but are not limited to the following: + Communicates technical information on the condition of plant chemical-relatedprocesses/equipment to management and other technical personnel + Supports chemical-related troubleshooting activities on power plant systems andequipment + Ensures Company resources are used in a cost-effective manner + Supports and emphasizes the importance of safety and environmental programsand ensures regulatory compliance + Operates lab equipment and performs chemical analysis and calculations + Participates in continuous improvement planning and implementation in area ofresponsibility + Recognizes problems and is proactive in helping to resolve them + Collects process and environmental samples to support plant production andregulatory compliance + Collects data and monitors performance of plant chemical treatment systems + Supports chemical cleaning activities if required + Performs relief of chemical personnel at various locations if required + Operate and check all pumps, chemical stations, reservoirs, water towers, filters, and electrical instrumentation. + Inspect equipment and monitor operating conditions, meters, and gauges to determine load requirements and detect malfunctions. + Operates and adjust controls on equipment and clarify water, process to dispose of sludge. + Will assign, perform, assist, repair and maintain plant equipment as well as keeping all structures and grounds neat and clean. + Handling chemicals, chlorine, phosphate, polymer, sulfuric acid, sodium hydroxide, anodamine, corrosion inhibitors, and other chemicals. + Maintain and ensure all daily logs. + Perform process control lab test such Total and free chlorine, turbidity, pH, alkalinity, hardness, phosphate, silica. + Ability to manage water treatment improvement projects. + Will help develop annual budgets for chemicals and projects for water treating area. **Working Conditions** + Normal office / plant environment. Includes out of doors work environment. (Including workingat heights, high/low ambient temperatures and high humidity areas at generating unitwork locations) + Requires working in a laboratory environment + Requires operation of a motor vehicle; valid State Driver's License + Work overtime and non-standard working hours as required + Requires occasional travel outside service area + Requires wearing personal protective safety equipment (respirators, safety glasses,hard hat, appropriate footwear, ear plugs, etc.) + Requires operation of a personal computer **Minimum Requirements** + High School Diploma or equivalent + Minimum of 8 college hours in Chemistry and 2 years of _power plant_ experience or 4years of industrial chemical experience. + Minimum Class D Wastewater License or willingness to obtain required license. + Must have a valid driver's license. **Preferred Requirements** + Associates Degree or Bachelors' Degree with concentration in Chemistry or Science. + Experience with water chemistry strongly preferred. **Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Experience** + Ability to use a personal computer and associated software applications to enter andevaluate data and create reports + Ability to effectively communicate (verbal and written) + Ability to establish and maintain a positive and professional working relationship withall individuals + Ability to perform as a team member or leader in a cross -functional team environmentand achieve consensus decisions + Ability to use basic math and algebra to perform calculations + Ability to read, create and follow written procedures and technical documents + Ability to read, write and understand English + Ability to connect and disconnect equipment and perform minor adjustments ontest/lab equipment + Has a basic understanding of the processes, systems, assets, resources, key personnel andbusiness functions of the region. + Knowledge of chemistry principles, laboratory techniques, and lab equipmentoperation + Ability to understand the effects of chemical analysis results on plant operations + Knowledge of applicable safety and environmental regulations + Uses and maintains technical and professional knowledge, shares that knowledge withothers, and recognizes/applies new technology in a cost-effective manner + Obtains and applies knowledge of competitive business practices in daily workactivities and decision making + Seeks and understands the customer/client's needs and focuses on meeting andexceeding their expectations + Anticipates and accepts changes in the organization and adapts to meet the newrequirements + Committed to making the workplace safe and environmentally sound + Willing to accept accountability for own decisions, performance, and behavior **Physical Requirements** + Requires standing, sitting, walking, kneeling, twisting, climbing stairs and ladders, andentering plant equipment to access, inspect, or collect data on plant equipment + May be required to work around rotating and energized equipment, hazardousmaterials and chemicals + Requires lifting to 50 pounds to perform duties and responsibilities **_Please Note: Salary offered will be commensurate with the successful candidate's education and/or experience and consistent with the job location's market pay rate._** NRG Energy is committed to a drug and alcohol-free workplace.
