This role collaborates across departments, including laboratory personnel and shipping/receiving, to ensure smooth and efficient laboratory and facility operations. Key Responsibilities: Perform, coordinate, schedule, and track regular maintenance, calibration, and repair of general-use equipment (e.g., balances, pH meters, pipettes, DI water systems, refrigerators, freezers); manage communication and coordination with internal stakeholders and service vendors. Maintain accurate maintenance and calibration records in spreadsheets and laboratory inventory management software. Respond to, coordinate, and execute facility related requests submitted through an online ticketing system. Participate in the on-call rotation of temperature monitoring for all laboratory refrigerators, freezers, incubators, and lab areas using environmental software. This will require response to alarms during business hours and occasionally after-hours response. Identify and create purchase orders for the supply of common laboratory equipment parts and general laboratory needs. Support the delivery of inert gas (nitrogen and argon) supply. Support the disposal coordination of radioactive, hazardous and biohazard waste, ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Serve as a point of contact for general office support needs. Assist with the setup, coordination, and cleanup of on-site events. Assist with the setup and teardown of laboratory workstations or other minor facility repairs/upgrades. The Clinical Laboratory Processing Technician is responsible for general support functions within the Specimen Processing Department of the Advanced Diagnostic Laboratories. Functions performed may include but are not limited to data entry of test orders, presort, pickup and delivery of specimens, proper specimen handling including centrifugation and aliquoting. Essential Duties Performs all duties according to QA/QC guidelines outlined within the Advanced Diagnostic Laboratories quality system. Follows the laboratory's and NJH established policies and procedure manuals. Reviews and signs laboratory and personnel SOP on an annual basis. Manages receiving and handling of samples for processing in multiple laboratories. Works closely with the phlebotomy staff to ensure timely delivery of critical samples. Communicates with laboratory staff on the status of the delivery or receipt of samples. Identifies problems and may resolve or notify appropriate person of issues with specimen types such as missing information etc. Performs data entry and QC of all patient/client information into the LIS/LIMS system for sample tracking. Follows clinical department requirements with regard to specimen types, understands how specimen types are related to the test(s) ordered, and quantity needed for each test, prepares samples for biological processing, including specimen handling and delivery. Maintains understanding of compliance regulations related to test ordering which may change on a daily basis. Under the guidance of a Senior or Lead Histotechnologist, you will provide high quality diagnostic material within established turn-around-times. Position Responsibilities: Embeds, cuts, stains and performs other tasks required to process tissue in the Immunohistochemistry laboratory. Performs accurate gross description on tissue samples. Perform quality control procedures established for each method and maintains accurate records. Operates all instruments/ equipment according to accepted written procedures and recognizes and identifies instrument/ equipment problems. Meets acceptable turnaround time and productivity standards for the section. Recognizes testing errors/discrepancies or problems and notifies appropriate personnel; assists in problem resolution. Record, transcribe, and maintain records of patient test results according to protocol. Assist other personnel with identifying and analyzing inconsistent and abnormal results. Review accuracy and completeness of results prior to releasing in the Laboratory Information System. Complete routine and STAT testing within acceptable turn-around time guidelines.
