The Construction laborer ensures the efficiency of a project through planned, thoughtful movement of materials and debris. Tasks and Responsibilities: Material staging and placement Material delivery and logistical planning Tools inventory Tools and gang box staging Debris removal Tools repair and maintenance Attend weekly meetings as needed Communicate with lead man or foreman Accountable to Lead Man or Foreman of project. The position uses a motor vehicle and other moving equipment to transport and deliver items, including those that are heavy or large in size. The Maintenance & Operations unit of Facilities Development & Operations provides maintenance and operations services to a university campus spread across multiple sites comprised of +151 acres, 81 buildings, and more than six million gross square feet. The Moving & Recycling Services Unit is one of nine total shops in the Maintenance & Operations Unit and is comprised of three Laborers who report up, through the Associate Director - Custodial & Moving Services. Summary/objective The Construction Worker is responsible for assisting the Construction Lead with the day-to-day maintenance operations of the facility. This includes performing repairs, supporting construction and maintenance projects, and ensuring the proper functioning of all building systems. This hands-on position requires practical knowledge of general construction, electrical, plumbing, and other facility-related trades.
