Levels concrete to specified depth and workable consistency, using hand-held screed and floats to bring water to surface and produce soft topping; and smooths and shapes surfaces of freshly poured concrete, using straight edge and float or power screed. Finishes or repair concrete surfaces to specified finish, may specialize in finishing steps and stairways, or may break up and repair old concrete surfaces. Aligns material to specified connections; verifies vertical and horizontal alignment of materials. Qualified in rigging & hoisting of materials Performs millwright duties by reading blueprints and schematic drawings to determine layout of equipment; dismantling machines; moving machinery and equipment, using hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks; and, assembling and installing equipment, such as shafting, conveyors, and tram rails. Serves as a lead to Laborers, Construction Workers, and other Skilled Construction Workers by monitoring and assigning work to construction crew in the absence of a Foreman or Superintendent. Ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed, bring problems to the attention of the Superintendent, Field Safety Coordinator or HR Manager.
