We are seeking General Laborers to join our team for our project in Washington, DC. Laborers may perform a variety of functions such as: Measuring distances, signals operators of construction equipment, mixing grouts and patching materials using portable mixer or by hand. Performs a variety of tasks involving dexterous, use of hands and tools such as chipping hammers, concrete vibrators, grinders, shovels, rakes, scrappers, sledge hammers and compaction equipment.
Essential Functions
* Strike off and help finish freshly poured concrete using float, trowel or screed.
* Help in positioning, joining, alignment of pipe sections.
* Help erect scaffolding, shoring and braces.
* Help other crafts in the forming of structures, stripping lumber, dismantling forms and removing imperfections from concrete surfaces
* Application of water, form oils, curing compounds, retarders, and other products used in concrete construction.
* Perform site clean up and area clean up daily.
Minimum Requirements
* Ability to communicate in English via verbal and written communications.
* Experience with concrete vibrating equipment.
* Move throughout a construction jobsite which includes minor obstacles including climbing ladders and inclines, operating heavy equipment, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
* Heavy physical activity performing strenuous day activities of a primarily productive/technical nature.
* Sufficient to reach/handle items and work with the fingers and perceives attributes of objects and materials.
* Work outdoors with exposure to changing weather conditions such as rain, sun, snow, wind. etc.
Preferred Requirements
* High-school Diploma or GED is preferred.
* 2 years of construction experience.
* Experience operating basic construction equipment.
* Follow all required safety rules, polices and guidelines.

General Purpose of Job:

This role requires significant physical exertion, including the ability to navigate active construction areas with uneven terrain, temporary and permanent stairs, ladders, scaffolding, and personnel hoists. Constant standing, walking, and performing repetitive physical tasks are required daily. The employee must frequently lift, carry, push, and pull materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move objects weighing over 50 pounds with assistance or team lifting techniques. This position requires frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing, and reaching (above and below shoulder level). The employee must possess sufficient physical dexterity and balance to work safely at various heights and in confined spaces. Visual acuity (including close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus) is essential for tasks such as reading instructions, operating equipment, and ensuring safety. Work Environment
