    Job Description Job Title: General Laborer Property Assignment: Bloomsbury Village, Stewart Park Apartments and Townhomes, and Des Moines Street Village Job Location: Des Moines, IA (Full-time between all properties - less than 3 minutes drive from each property) Salary Range: $18.00-$22.00 per hour Job Summary The General Laborer will be responsible to ensure the buildings and grounds are kept clean and well maintained. Essential Functions Completes light maintenance duties Changes batteries in smoke detectors and thermostats. Changes light bulbs throughout the property. Changes filters as needed at the property. Inspects buildings/grounds daily and make needed repairs. Assist with preventive maintenance program. Performs janitorial work to ensure a clean environment for the residents Cleans common areas, hallways, stairwells, and public restrooms. Attends to spills or messes in a timely manner. Responsible for trash and recycling at the property Moves dumpsters on collection days. Ensures trash areas are kept clean and orderly. Performs seasonally appropriate grounds maintenance Picks up grounds around the property to ensure a neat and clean appearance. Removes snow and ice from walkway and steps. Demonstrates regular and consistent attendance as outlined by company policies and procedures. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor. Minimum Requirements Ability to work independently Good interpersonal and customer service skills Ability and willingness to travel to multiple locations as necessary with your own transportation. Education and Experience Minimum of two years residential maintenance experience, building maintenance or janitorial experience. High School diploma or equivalent certification.
