General Laborer
Pay: $24.32/hr starting pay
Shifts: 12 hour shifts: 7am to 7pm or 7pm to 7am (rotating) as well as rotating 8 hour shifts during the probationary period.

Sonoco U.S. Paper Mills Corp., Menasha is a national supplier of paperboard and spirally wound core stock. We are now hiring for full-time Entry-Level General Labor positions. Starting pay is $24.32/hour. The pay increases to $25.38 after 60 days worked (probation) and $26.44 after six months of employment. Employees can earn over 27.00/hour when they qualify in a position and have the potential of earning $70,000 in their first year. Employees receive shift differential and double time on Sundays. We are a 24/7 facility.

Duties include but are not limited to:
Preparing product Retrieving/placing products Driving tow motor Assisting with paper breaks Separating ribbons on rewinder and/or Lowe rater Retrieving tape rolls Threading rewinder Creating parent roll

Being a safety-conscious value-added team member, working effective with fellow employees, converting and packaging paper rolls to customer specifications. Other duties would include:
wash-up duties/general maintenance,clean-up and discarding of wet, broken, or damaged paper into the pulper.

We will train for you to obtain and maintain company lift truck certification.Performing repetitive duties, including climbing stairs, standing for periods of time, periodically working in hot or cold areas, being able to multitask, and periodically lifting/moving heavy objects.Read and understand manufacturing instructions.Take pride in your personal hands-on and analytical abilities, organizational skills and attention to detail.

The Job You Will Perform:

• Follow print requisitions to stack 10-50 pound bundles on pallets
• Utilize vacuum lift to move the heavier bales from the discharge conveyor to the pallets
• Wrap bundles using Kraft paper, tape, and strapping machines
• Occasional use of manual pallet jack
• Sorting and lifting pallets
• Baling up to 5 machine lines per shift
• General housekeeping duties
• Other duties as assigned

• Be flexible to work day shift, swing shift, and graveyard shift.
• Work weekends, Holidays, and mandatory overtime as required.
• Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), such as, but not limited to, hearing protection, safety glasses, gloves, and safety steel toed shoes.
• Follow all Safety and House rules.

How You’ll Perform the Role

The role of the General Laborer is to contribute to facility efficiency through ensuring an exceptional customer experience, assisting with warehousing duties, and supporting our color blending production team.
Ensure customer quality and service expectations are met. Follow designated loss prevention, security and safety practices according to policy and correct or report noncompliance of appropriate procedures/policies. Troubleshoot and resolve customer problems with spray equipment. Operate all material handling, color matching, tinting, mixing and lab testing equipment as required and in a safe manner. Assist with physical inventory. Assist with color blending, warehouse and delivery responsibilities as needed. Follow all safety practices as outlined. Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). Follow Hazardous Material Handling Procedures. Other duties as assigned.
