Job Skills / Requirements Individual needed to perform a variety of semi-skilled trades work and operate heavy machinery including trucks, tractors, front-end loaders, etc. Duties include painting, carpentry, concrete work; clearing ditches, catch basins, culverts, storm sewers, and other drainage structures; loading and unloading stone, gravel, dirt, asphalt, limbs, trash, and heavy mechanical equipment; mowing greenways, parks and cleaning grounds; clearing debris and trees after storms; operating and using chainsaws, trimers, and hand tools; and operating snowplows. SUMMARY : The Operations Laborer is responsible for the operation of machinery and equipment in the copper manufacturing plant to produce high-quality copper products. This role requires an understanding of the production process, equipment settings, and the ability to maintain safe, efficient operations. In this role, you will oversee production, quality, and safety under the direction of the Assistant Superintendent and Superintendent. As a foreman, you will play an essential role in ensuring the successful completion of all work by providing hands-on support and guidance to the team. This includes assisting in training apprentices, journeymen, and other field personnel to ensure all tasks are performed safely and with high quality.Primary Responsibilities Understands how the Carpenter interacts with a Laborer during the tank building process and can direct the work as required. Establishes crews, assigns responsibilities and follows through on assigned work to meet the project timeline. Reads and interprets tank drawings and construction information package to ensure work is performed according to specifications. Inventories material upon delivery to ensure components comply with the contract drawings prior to signature. Involved in daily closeout meetings with the Superintendent providing an update on the day's activities and needs for the following day. Follows quality control (QC) program, understands construction tolerances, and reports any quality defects immediately. Checks and confirms elevation grades and plumbness on critical tank components. Follows and upholds safety procedures and understands DN Tanks safety policies. Identifies hazards, takes action to correct them, and is responsible for recognizing those who do the same in accordance with the Award of Excellence (AOE) Program. Promotes clean, safe work practices by watching over other employees while performing work.
