Approximately 3-5 hours per day. Pushing and Pulling 50 pound carts & wheelbarrows frequently. Approximately 1 hour per day. Lifting and pushing 5 pound broom or floor scraper occasionally. Approximately 1 hour per day. Reaching and pushing 40-60 pound scrap into truck above shoulder and at shoulder height occasionally. Approximately one hour at a time. Mental alertness and muscular coordination required. Walking and carrying materials. Approximately 6 hours per day. Sitting in truck and driving for approximately 2-3 hours per day. Driving Requirements: Must conform to D.O.T. standards in §391.41, Subpart E, of physical and mental capabilities, including vision of at least 20/40 in each eye without corrective lenses, and hearing capacity under number 11 of the subpart. Responsible for performing a variety of tasks associated with prepping, pouring, placing, and finishing of concrete. Tasks include assisting carpenters and finishers in daily tasks which include, but are not limited to the following: erecting and setting forms and scaffolding; loading and unloading equipment; placing and finishing of concrete; transporting equipment, materials, and supplies; and ensuring a safe and clean job-site.

We are seeking construction laborers with lagging, underpinning, grout mixing and other support of excavation experience. Tasks will involve physical labor at construction sites to assist with these operations. The primary skills required include hand digging and backfilling for installation of lagging or underpinning. Other typical laborer activities associated with the support of excavation include but are not limited to mixing grout, tieback fabrication, drilling assistance, digging trenches, cleaning up debris, and other duties. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (comprehensive, but not limited to): Greenhouse Production: • Responsible for all aspects of plant growing including seeding, pruning, transplanting, spacing, watering, hanging baskets. • Set, pull, sort and store plants according to variety, growing needs and shipments. • Perform irrigation activities, including setting up and moving irrigation pipes and equipment and watering plants both by hand and automated irrigation systems. • Move containerized plants using rolling carts. • Unload carts/bins/trucks/wagons at designated market and sort product for quality issues and repackage for sales. Field Production: • Perform field maintenance activities including pulling weeds, thinning crops, and spraying plants with herbicides, pesticides, and fungicides. • Remove trash, rocks, and debris from the planting/ harvest area. • At harvest, will be instructed to select vegetables based on specifications set by the supervisor. • Operate tractors, sprayers, cultivators, planters, mowers, plows, disks, and other farm equipment. Facility Grounds and Equipment Maintenance: • Construction, uncover and/or recover greenhouses, with or without the use of power tools. • Maintain facilities grounds including weeding, mowing and snow removal as necessary. • Assist with the maintenance and repair of equipment. • Be able to operate equipment with or without direction, in a manner that protects the operator, visitors, other employees, plants, crops, trees, facilities and equipment. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Prior experience working on a nursery handling both manual and machine tasks associated with commodity production and harvest activities. • Level 1: minimum of 3 months prior experience • Level 2: 4+ years of experience or exemplary performance • Level 3: 7+ years of experience or exemplary performance, consider an expert and assisting in training new hires • Level 4 (Team Leader): 10+ years of experience or exemplary performance, assisting supervisor/manager with supervising greenhouse operations. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: • Work is to be done in the field and/or greenhouse for long periods of time. • Workers may assist in loading trucks with nursery products up to 50 pounds and lifting to a height of 5 feet. If there are heavier items, they will require a team lift. • Workers should be able to work on their feet in bent positions for long periods of time. • Work requires repetitive movements and extensive walking. • Allergies may affect worker's ability to perform the job. • Workers will be required to bend and stoop to pick crops, cut the vines using a knife and carry crops to bins, carts, wagons and trucks. • Workers are exposed to wet weather early in the morning through the heat of the day. Extreme temperatures may range from -10 to 100+ F. Workers may be required to work during occasional showers not severe enough to stop operations. • Workers should be physically able to do the work required with or without reasonable accommodations. Our Maintenance Laborers are responsible for manual and unskilled labor work associated with maintaining a multi-family property. They assists in minimizing vacant units and vacancy loss. EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 1. Assists HAKC in maintaining at least a “standard” performance score under HUD's Assessment system indicators. Completes assigned work orders in a timely manner. Maintains resident satisfaction relating to work assigned. 2. Carries out the work in a manner that complies with all applicable Federal, State and local laws, regulations, and PHA policies and procedures related to: Civil and Disability rights; fair labor standards and practices; procurement of goods and services; rental integrity; OSHA standards; data privacy laws. 3. Completes work orders within prescribed timeframes and to prescribed standards. Prepares appropriate paperwork to order required materials or notifies supervisor of needed materials. Specific work may include and may be limited by availability of tools and training, but is not solely limited to: moves supplies, furniture and equipment; loads and unloads trucks; replaces light bulbs, changes filters; tests smoke detectors and replaces batteries; cleans units following the move-out of a family and cleans units in preparation for leasing; mows grass, edges and blows sidewalks and driveways, trims bushes and trees, chops trees and removes stumps, removes snow at assigned building, rakes and bags leaves, plants flowers, bushes and trees, picks up trash and provides other services relating to grounds keeping; calls appropriate vendor to clean sewers and street drains; cleans sludge beds; cleans and maintains tools and equipment; makes other minor repairs not requiring technical skills; uses computer and ensures that all information is recorded on the work order, including materials used. 4. Maintains property, including upon request of the supervisor may inspect vacant units; in the course of regularly assigned duties walks the property to check for curb appeal, hazardous conditions and other needs; inspects common areas, hallways, community rooms, and interior hallways daily and ensures that work orders are issued to address deficiencies. 5. Notifies supervisor as soon as possible of resident intent to vacate or skip-outs. Ensures that the exterior of the property, the route to the unit and the unit itself is clean and attractive prior to showing to a prospective resident. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE · Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent. · Some skill in the use of the tools, machines, and materials required in common labor work and is willing and able to learn teamwork and methods with which they are not familiar. · Ability to understand oral and written instructions. · Must possess a valid Missouri driver's license and show evidence of personal vehicle insurance. · Must possess strong customer service skills.
