Purpose
The
Laborer
position is responsible for safely performing a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor as assigned. We are hiring for jobs in the Northern Kentucky, Central Kentucky, Southern Indiana, and Greater Louisville area.
Job Responsibilities
Perform duties as assigned.
Work closely with Foreman and team members to ensure construction projects are completed to specifications and in a timely manner.
Carry out construction projects, which may require the operation of a variety of hand and power tools.
Maintain a clean job site, pick up all tools and equipment, and secure job site each day to eliminate potential hazards.
Unload and load construction materials.
Must be flexible and willing to learn and use new skills quickly.
Education and Experience
Previous experience in construction work or equivalent experience preferred.
Some knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials and supplies preferred.
Willing to work long hours if necessary.
Skills and Specifications
Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule.
Ability to lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time, and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions.
Strong communication and collaboration skills. Experience working effectively in a team environment.

General duties; Counts parts, confirms counts, un-crates, crates, assembles, disassembles, tags parts, and cleans parts/equipment in any number of ways. Moves, hangs, un-hangs and/or sets up equipment and parts to be processed (2 lbs.-6000 lbs.). Laborer's wraps parts and prepares finished parts/equipment for shipment.
Blaster duties: removes rust, Mil scale, and foreign matter from equipment's substrate with abrasive steel, sand, aluminum oxide, plastics, glass media: as-well as hand sanding, disc sanding and using chemical cleaners to prepare and clean parts and/or equipment as needed. Understand SP 1, 2, 3, 5 and 10 Preparation/Blasting definitions in order to perform work. Cleaning Duties: as directed, completes cleaning work on parts following the direction of work instructions per job or as directed by supervisor. Cleaning by solvent wipe by hand, cleaning by immersion in bath, spray cleaning by use of Steam Genie. A supervisor will/may review all finished cleaning work completed by Laborer prior to masking or 'painting'.
Masking duties; as directed, completes masking work on parts following the sample masking work completed by a Masker or Supervisor or Visual Product Verification Data Record. A supervisor/Painter reviews all finished masking work completed by Laborer prior to painting.
Painting duties: completes basic mixing and priming paints like MIL-P-24441, Epoxy 9818, or Dry Film Lube. A laborer will also be taught the basic fundamentals of cleaning paint guns, lines, and pots. A Laborer's painting duties will all be supervised, work inspected, and cleaning checked by supervisor, Painter, or Inspector.
Assist in other work/jobs as requested or assigned: includes tasks like Tank watch for blasting; helping and moving paint lines for a painter or Powder coater, assisting in the cleaning/washing of parts of a Work order, assisting a Chemical Conversion Technician coat parts in our 5541 Bath... etc
