From your PASSION to ours Lactalis USA, part of the Lactalis family of companies, is currently hiring a Director of Supplier Quality and Food Safety in Buffalo, NY. As a Supplier Quality and Food Safety Director LUSA, the role will carry out responsibilities such as but not limited to securing food safety & compliance of all LUSA suppliers (Raws & Packs, CoMan) with the Group QFS standards & FDA standard; to ensure Business Continuity & Reputation. Lead the transformation of Q&FS roadmap (WINSUP project) established by Corporate. Leverage the talent of existing Resources in LUSA to build a strong and efficient Quality Upstream team to deliver a solid QFS Supplier management program. The role includes leading the transformation of the Food Safety Quality program for all upstream suppliers and Co-Manufacturers, driving synergies between internal resources across divisions. Additionally, the Supplier Quality and Food Safety Director LUSA will collaborate with Supplier quality corporate in Laval and network, Procurement team LUSA, R&D LUSA, suppliers, co-manufacturers and co-packers, quality manager of factories in LUSA to align duties with the company's goals and values. From your EXPERTISE to ours Key responsibilities for this position include: · Serve as the primary point of contact for the corporate Supplier Quality Department (SDQ); share audit reports; manage auditor qualifications; and ensure "no spec no buy" implementation in sourcing. · Manage raw/packaging specifications, including validation, improvement, and annual risk assessment with stakeholders. · Oversee supplier documentation, plan/prioritize audits based on risk, coordinate auditors, and conduct audits according to Group rules. · Track QFS performance using KPIs; conduct performance reviews; collaborate with stakeholders to resolve issues; and validate traceability systems. · Contribute to strategic initiatives like dual sourcing; maintain updated supplier lists; and ensure regulatory compliance and anticipation of new regulations. · Provide expertise and support on non-compliance, including root cause analysis and problem-solving, and approve suppliers on quality and food safety. · Ensure full compliance with FDA and Lactalis SQMP standards; cultivate win-win relationships with suppliers; and maintain a robust QFS supplier management program focused on key metrics. · Apply Group Supply Criticality and Food Fraud protocols; participate in creating supply specifications and defining analytical criteria; and develop/implement initiatives to enhance QFS culture. · Manage crisis/alert and incident/withdrawal/recall procedures; establish an integrated QFS management system; and maintain close relationships with internal teams and suppliers. · Oversee team health and safety; manage auditor work; handle staff management (onboarding, training, appraisal, development); utilize internal tools; and improve performance through skill development and communication. Supervisor Responsibilities The incumbent is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of Supplier QFS team across LUSA divisions in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. From your PASSION to ours The Senior Supplier Development Manager, as a key member of the North American Strategic Procurement team is responsible for developing and implementing short, medium and long term technical and operational strategies with suppliers (primary focus being co-manufacturers) in close collaboration with the strategic buyers of the category team in order to help and support the procurement strategies to improve overall supplier performance and external manufacturing network optimization. He/she works in strong collaboration and has to develop relationships/network within the procurement team business stakeholders and suppliers. This position has direct impacts to support procurement and business goals for vendor performance. This person used to work in operations, engineering, in a plant and with matrixial organization, preferably in the food industry. He/she operates under the leadership of the Director Procurement, Comanufacturing North America, and he/she will be working with other team members from the procurement team North America (USA and Canada) and across categories. This person will be required to spend time visiting suppliers' plants and travel up to 40-50%. From your EXPERTISE to ours Key responsibilities for this position include: Main key technical contact with vendor's operational and plant teams. Manage and support all operational discussions with suppliers when needed for all zone and across divisions. Responsible for technical and capacity assessment of vendors before and after qualification. Map and maintain capabilities and capacity changes at the supplier locations and highlight risks and opportunities to the business. Full ownership of managing operational discussions with suppliers regarding challenges they are facing in their plants to optimize total output, quality and costs of the products. Work closely with Supply chain team to improve OE, optimize raw materials and FGs scheduling and reach production attainment targets. Work closely with Quality team to support; the control of the total cost of quality and reach CPM targets. Work closely with all functions and coman cross functional teams to identify and drive productivity projects linked to process improvement, reducing waste, raw materials management and increasing efficiency. Identify and execute value analysis and vendor transfer savings opportunities as a cross-functional effort to deliver cost reduction targets and optimize other performance measures such as on-time delivery & lead time on purchased goods and services, without jeopardizing quality, flexibility and supply continuity. Formulate actions plan, set KPI targets Monitor validated action plans at supplier's sites. Participate as an active cross-functional team member by providing insight to the Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, Quality, R&D, Sales and Marketing and other key functional areas of the business for effective project execution such as new launches, line extensions, process optimization. Develop supplier relationships to optimize supplier quality and performance, including continuous improvement, innovation, reduction in total cost of ownership, and to add value. Manage with quality department supplier quality/Food safety and supplier non-conformance Perform administrative duties such as combining suppliers' score cards, vendor technical visits, capabilities and capacity mapping, productivity assessments and productivity projects tracking. Drive continuous improvement based on Lactalis and suppliers' cross-functional needs and constraints. Could be assigned to special projects by the Director Procurement comanufacturing North America. From your PASSION to ours The candidate will ensure that the Mozzarella Packaging department is operating properly. From your EXPERTISE to ours Key responsibilities for this position include: 1. Analyzes and evaluates information concerning daily operations and how these results positively or negatively affect department performance.2. Ensures department is running in a smooth efficient manner, completes supervisor rounds as required. 3. Works with all departments to ensure proper adherence to GMP, GSP and QC policies and procedures and proper maintenance of equipment.4. Suggest and debate alternative methods and procedures in problem solving procedure. 5. Participates in operating budget, goals, and objectives of the department and works toward meeting and/or exceeding these expectations.6. Monitors punches and ensures there are sufficient personnel including temporary hours. 7. Completes all records and charting as required.8. Meets regularly with shift supervisors and sanitation supervisor to stay informed about all issues arising in the department.9. Conducts department employee meetings on a monthly or bi-monthly basis.10. Performs administrative managerial duties in an accurate, timely and professional manner. (Phone calls, voice mail, paperwork, meeting presentations).11. Responsible for hiring and scheduling required within the department, including temporary staff if necessary.12. Actively works on the production floor to facilitate the exchange of data between various departments.13. Maintains open communication with all employees including department managers.14. Implement special projects and procedures as directed. Requirements From your STORY to ours Qualified applicants will contribute the following: Education and/or Experience: * High School Diploma/GED required. * Associates Degree in Business Administration or dairy science preferred * Knowledge of computer software: Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook. * 3-5 years of Supervisory experience preferred. * Previous food manufacturing experience preferred. Qualifications: * Ability to perform a multitude of tasks. * Strong communication abilities, written and verbal. Shift: 12-hour shift (6:00 pm - 6:00 am) Alternating weekends off. May conduct inspections and enforce adherence to laws and regulations governing the health and safety of individuals. Plan, implement, and coordinate safety programs, requiring application of engineering principles and technology, to prevent or correct unsafe working conditions. Facilitate the duties required in the prevention, control, and remediation of environmental hazards. Protect the public, environment, and ensure conformance with Federal, State, and local regulations and ordinances. Work may include wastewater treatment, site remediation, pollution control, and loss prevention. Plan and direct policies, procedures, or systems to prevent the loss of assets. Determine risk exposure or potential liability and develop risk control measures.
