1977

Founded by Steven Lagos in 1977, the brand is known for its jewelry craftsmanship and the proprietary design technique of textured caviar-like beading.

1982

In 1982 he exhibited under his name at his first jewelry trade show in New York.

1984

Steven Lagos was inspired by the look of raw hematite to create the signature beaded look that was first featured in 1984.

1994

The brand’s flagship boutique opened in 1994 on Rittenhouse Square in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. (en)

2000

Lagos sold more than 250,000 pieces of this product since its inception in 2000.

2002

In 2002 he bought the building that still serves as his headquarters and had up to 80 people making his jewels by hand.

2007

In 2007 he hired Chris Cullen, a veteran marketer who worked for a number of brands, including Vertu, Lalique and Elizabeth Arden.
