The Laboratory Clerk processes the delivery of all incoming laboratory specimens. This can include but is not limited to registration, order entry, and receipt of all laboratory samples into the LIS system. After pre-analytic processing, the clerical staff member will then deliver all specimens to the Analytical area of the lab for Medical Technologist to complete testing. All clerical staff members are also responsible for our outpatient area for pre-employment laboratory processing of all LCMH employees and pre-op laboratory services. Clerical staff members will complete daily temperature and disinfection checks. Clerical staff members are also the laboratory s first line of customer service representation. Each employee will answer and respond to questions or concerns presented by hospital staff or outside organizations.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Registers patients in the laboratory computer accurately and timely.
Employee obtains a copy of the patients photo ID and insurance card (if applicable and available). Documents are scanned to accounts ensuring documents are clear when saved.
Collects updated demographic information and accurately codes information on all patients, including but not limited to: contact numbers, Emergency contact, mailing address, Living Will information, email address, marital status, etc.
Orders laboratory tests accurately.
Receives specimens into the laboratory computer system accurately and timely.
Collects LCMH pre-employment drug screens using chain of custody.
Faxes results to physicians.
Answers the telephone ad provides information or relays messages to appropriate personnel.
Ensure proper collection for specimen integrity.
Keeps outpatient area clean and well maintained.
Utilizes proper hand washing.
Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
High school graduate or equivalent required.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
* Event management: Responsible for the growth of the Foundations annual fundraising initiatives such as HeartiGras, annual golf classic, gala, margarita mix-off, and virtual fundraisers. Manage timelines, budgets, vendor relationships, and logistical plans to ensure the successful execution of events, and positive participant experience. Promote events via social media, email campaigns, and print materials. Engage prospective and current supporters, hospital staff, sponsors, vendors, and partners by securing monetary and in-kind support. Track and report on event and campaign success metrics, including attendance, donations, and ROI. Ensures growth of foundation fundraising events by recommending and implementing strategies to maximize event participation and reach or exceed set annual event revenue goals. * Communications: Develops content based on department goals and direction provided by the Executive Director, in collaboration with the LCMHS marketing department to consistently maintain LCMHS brand standards. This includes but is not limited to newsletters, press releases, impact stories, annual reports, brochures, digital TV, social media posts, website, and video content.
* Community engagement: Increases the number of external community partnerships through networking, and presence at civic, business, and social events to promote the foundations fundraising and program-related events. Plans group presentations or one-on-one visits/meetings, as necessary. Engages employees of the Lake Charles Memorial Health System (LCMHS) for event participation.
* Community involvement and leadership: Establishes a strong presence in the community through volunteer leadership.
* Volunteer management: Recruits, trains, and provides direction, oversight, and support to event-related committee leaders and volunteers.
* Constituent relationship management: Build and strengthen relationships with assigned accounts and prospective supporters. Promote events via social media, email campaigns, and print materials. Engage prospective and current supporters, hospital staff, sponsors, vendors, and partners by securing monetary and in-kind support. Track and report on event and campaign success metrics, including attendance, donations, and ROI. Ensures growth of foundation fundraising events by recommending and implementing strategies to maximize event participation and reach or exceed set annual event revenue goals. Manages the logistics of program-related events (i.e. annual cancer survivor celebration, trauma symposium, new cardiac symposium, community outreach, etc.) in collaboration with program fund administrators. Stays informed about industry trends and best practices in event planning and fundraising. Provides guidance and support for donor-initiated/hosted third-party, peer-to-peer, and online fundraisers. The Claims Escalation Analyst will be responsible for managing and investigating escalated claims and ensuring timely resolution. The successful candidate must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent communication skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Analyze and interpret policy language, contracts and statutes
Maintain accurate records of all claims and ensuring timely resolution
Understands assigned payer s allowable calculations in order to preview an account to determine if properly paid and identify when errors are made in payments.
Accurately posts transactions based on assigned duties ensuring that keying is correct for all payments, adjustments, deductibles & coinsurance assignments.
Able to evaluate transactions posted on an account to ensure all payments and adjustments are posted and are appropriate.
Works with other departments to resolve any outstanding issues delaying claims processing.
Communicates effectively with assigned payer and makes appropriate decisions to escalate and push claims with carriers, companies and other departments.
Accurately evaluates each account in order to determine what is needed, what is left outstanding and what steps are necessary to resolve the account quickly.
Properly utilizes productivity tracking mechanisms.
Works at or above the weekly set productivity standard and completes tasks in a timely manner.
Appropriately prioritizes work queue in order to work highest priority first based on assigned subjects.
Documents all information in the System following the Clear Concise Consistent method.
Consistently monitors assignment to ensure that all steps necessary to assist the Team with achieving its goals have been taken.
Able to write clearly and informatively.
