Industrial Relations Specialist Job in Lincoln, CA
Deliver sales assistance, technical support, product training, and application knowledge for all aspects of the Paving, Milling and Compaction market Influence sales of parts and service of Caterpillar Earthmoving and other related products throughout the territory. Build relationships with customers and keep them informed of ongoing services and specials. Through consultative action, partner with our customers to identify improvements and implement solutions.ResponsibilitiesEssential Functions: Support the current Sales, Rental and Product Support Reps to maximize opportunities with paving product sales, rentals, and product support sales.Identify and initiate direct contact with and influence purchasers of Paving equipment in a manner that is consistent with our mission statement and core values to meet or exceed business goals.Support Hawthorne Rental services with paving fleet utilization and growth, including demos, deliveries and application training for Rental Reps.Establish relationships with all existing and new paving product customers, on a direct basis and in tandem alongside team members from Sales, Rental and Product Support. These relationships must extend through the Equipment Managers, Superintendents Foremen, Operators and Service Technicians.Respond to customer needs, including technical application and product problems, to enhance the quality of customer service and satisfaction and to promote a mutually beneficial relationship. Partner with Technical Communicators, Service Managers, Parts, and Service Sales Reps.Work with the Sales and Marketing teams to develop and implement business plans and sales forecasts for paving products (machine sales, parts, and service).Have the depth of understanding of paving products and industry practices to serve as the paving expert, supporting both sales and product support personnel and paving customers.Initiate, complete and submit on an accurate and timely basis sales reports and documentation to assist in monitoring and achieving business goals, utilizing CRM tools, including quote reports.Organize a minimum of two (2) paving product training classes per year for the sales teams.Attend Caterpillar training on an annual basis:Roadbuilders ConferenceSpring TrainingFactory product support training Paver Operator training Provide paving product and application training as required including customer machine demonstrations and start-up training.Work with Caterpillar, Product Support and Sales paving organization to meet and exceed sales goals and improve customer satisfaction.Participate in relevant paving associations and organizations (i.e. CalAPA) Improve knowledge of paving industry and paving techniques, including keeping up to date on industry developments, technology and practices.Prospect and develop assigned accounts and provide parts and service to meet customer needs.Assist customers in selection of programs that will insure maximum life cycle of their equipment.Perform any job that may be assigned as necessary to meet the company, department or individual goals and objectives.QualificationsEducation, Experience, and Skills Required: Must be comfortable with public speaking.Minimum two (2) years' experience in direct customer contact in sales, rental, product support/service of paving products or equivalent.Language Skills - Ability to red and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with managers or employees of the organization.Mathematical Skills - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to interpret bar graphs.Reasoning Ability - Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.Valid Driver's License as required for transportation and demonstration purposes.Physical Demands:Walking and moving about on foot often up and down stairs.Handling: Seizes, helps or works with hands.Lifting: Raises or lowers miscellaneous paperwork.Reaching: Extends hands and arms in any direction.Stooping: Bends body downward and forward by bending at knees or waist.Standing: Remains in standing position, if required to perform various functions of the job.Vision: Read paperwork, employment files and records on the computer.Talking: Communications by phone and in person.Sitting: Sits at desk.
