The Florida Division of Emergency Management (FDEM) plans for and responds to both natural and man-made disasters. These range from floods and hurricanes to incidents involving hazardous materials or nuclear power. FDEM is the liaison between federal, state, and local agencies. FDEM prepares and implements a statewide Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan, routinely conducts extensive exercises to test state and county emergency response capabilities, provides technical assistance to local governments as they prepare emergency plans and procedures, as well as conducts emergency operations trainings for state and local government agencies. FDEM serves as the lead agency for the State Emergency Response Team (SERT), whose primary goal is the coordination of the state's efforts during disaster response and recovery. Additionally, FDEM manages the State Watch Office; the 24-hour a day operation tasked with providing situational awareness to stakeholders, statewide. Perform loading & unloading of material by changing tools & select required machine programs. Measures & aligns materials to be used. * Reducing Scrap: Select best suitable sheet size for parts to be fabricated to reduce scrap. * Positioning & Adjustments: Positions & clamp stop, guides, & turntables. Adjusts controls to set & regulate machining factors, such as pressure & depth of ram stroke, adjustment rolls, blade angle, & machine speed. * Locates & marks bending or cutting lines & reference points on workpiece, using instruments, such as rule & compass, or by tracing from templates. * Cutting Blades or Hoist: Positions workpiece against stops and guides or aligns layout marks with dies or cutting blades manually or using hoist. * Adjust Machine Settings: Starts machine and observes machine operation to reposition workpiece, change dies, or adjust machine settings for multiple or successive passes. * E2 ShopTech ERP system: Use E2 ShopTech ERP system to track job time accurately & work within the time given to complete. * Inspects all manufactured parts following work using rule, gauges, and templates to ensure engineering specifications and quality standards are met. * Maintenance on Press Brake: Performs routine maintenance on press brake as well as cleaning & sharpening tooling as needed. Resolve mechanical issues & repair minor issues along with equipment adjustments as required. * Inspect & maintain press braking equipment to conform to safety requirements. Correct issues related to safety before performing operations. * Blueprints, Engineering Parameters: Perform from blueprints, engineering parameters as well as production schedules. Establish brake press adhering print parameters & work instructions. * Maintains a clean work area. Required Skills/Abilities: * Proven experience as a fabricator & machine operator with a minimum of 5-years' experience. * Experience using a variety of machine & fabricating equipment, tools, and procedures. * Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings. * Knowledge of figuring and using measurements. * Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, grinders, drills, CNC brake press a plus, etc.). * Reading fractions & decimals (must know how to convert fractions to decimals). * BASIC mathematics skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and geometry). * Knowledge of shop & machine safety standards and use of PPE (face-shield, gloves etc.). * Forklift experience (preferably certified). * Overhead crane experience. * Ability to perform without difficulty and great attention to detail with goal-driven attitude. * Employee must be dependable and capable of working overtime hours. * Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and demanding environment. * Professional Certifications is a plus. * Employee must be a team player to reach daily work schedule goals with a positive attitude. * Ability to perform without difficulty and great attention to detail with goal-driven attitude. * Ability to stand and walk up to 75% of shift and lift a maximum of 50lbs. * Employee must be dependable and capable of working overtime hours. * Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
