Position Summary
Under the direction of the facility Coding and Reimbursement Manager, conducts coding quality reviews and audits of chart documentation to assess accuracy, ensure compliance with federal and payer policies, and identifies areas for improvement for hospital outpatient coding. Develops and delivers training on coding accuracy and compliance, staying updated on regulations and providing expert guidance to coders. Provides ongoing coding education and training to coding team and serves as mentor to all new coding team members. Serves as a subject matter expert and resource for coders, providers, and other staff on coding questions, regulatory changes, and best practice. Standard Work: Outpatient Coding Quality Educator Specialist
Actively participates in team development, achieving dashboards, and in accomplishing departmental goals and objectives.
Performs internal quality assessment reviews on outpatient facility coders to ensure compliance with national coding guidelines and the LRH coding policies for complete, accurate and consistent coding which result in appropriate reimbursement and data integrity. Helps to coordinate and direct the day-to-day coding educational activities. Facilitates and provides coding educational classes/presentations to staff, as required/when needed.
Communicates outcomes to the coding team to improve the accuracy, integrity and quality of patient data, to ensure minimal variation in coding practices and to improve the quality of physician documentation within the body of the medical record to support code assignments. Microscopically examines specimens to detect cancer and other pathological conditions, reports findings for finalization by the Pathologist and performs related troubleshooting tasks.
Assists EUS, ERCP, EBUS, Navigation Bronchoscopy, Bronchoscopy with Fluoro, FNA, and Core Biopsy procedures performed in GI, Cat Scan, US, IR, bedside, and OR areas.
Prepares specimens for adequacy or rapid on-site cytologic exam (ROSE) and recommends ancillary testing techniques when indicated.

Position Summary
Works across the institution to provide quality nutritional support services. Consistently contributes to a multidisciplinary, collaborative effort to ensure positive patient outcomes. The Clinical Dietitian works with the food service management and staff to coordinate delivery of the prescribed diet and meet the nutritional needs of the patient. Responsible to practice within their scope of licensure in accordance with approved policies, procedures and protocols. Must effectively interact with patients, families, physicians and other health team members while maintaining standards of professional nutritional care. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Position Responsibilities
Standard Work Duties: Dietitian I
Evaluate patients nutrition status upon consult and or deemed clinically appropriate per referral from members of the multi-disciplinary team, Clinical Informatics and or as directed per Clinical Nutrition Manager, utilizing the Nutrition Care Process, to include Nutrition Focused Physical Exam.
Documents Malnutrition diagnosis based on ASPEN guidelines.
Implements and monitors nutrition care based on: Nutritional Care: Screening, Assessment, and Plan for the Provision of - CL.0190.
Initiates / provides Medical Nutrition Therapy based upon Licensed Dietitian Ordering Privileges.
Collaborates with and communicates effectively with physicians and members of the multi-disciplinary team to integrate information which refines and contributes to the overall medical care of the patient, with specific emphasis on nutritional care, through routine rounds.
Timely and Accurately completes weekly productivity report.
Educates Medical Residents, Nursing and Nutrition Staff.
Participates in Food Service Quality Initiatives (Test Trays, Meal Rounds, GEMBA Meetings, reports concern to FSD and or CNM, maintains open communication with Clinical Nutrition Manager.
Guide Projects Using Acceptable Standards And ITIL Framework Safety And Performance Improvement
Behaves in a mindful manner focused on self, patient, visitor, and team safety.
Demonstrates accountability and commitment to quality work.
Participates actively in process improvement and adoption of standard work.

Responsibilities:
A nonexempt position responsible for performing venipuncture on patients.
Uses customer service principles and techniques to deal with patients calmly and pleasantly.
Pre-visit plans patients' records prior to visit in order to ensure appropriate orders and diagnosis.
Prepares equipment to efficiently collect specimens.
Performs venipuncture, arterial and capillary punctures on patients as directed by physician and following medical practice protocols and OSHA standards related to safety, infection control, and confidentiality.
Conducts testing on Point of Care specimens.
Appropriately prepares all specimens for transport to testing laboratories.
Appropriately identifies correct laboratory for testing specific to patient and insurance.
Enters data into computer.
Assists patients before, during, and after procedure. Instructs on proper urine collection procedures.
Cleans/sterilizes equipment, instruments, and work area following safety, cleanliness, and infection control procedures.
Inventories supplies and places orders to ensure adequate supplies are available for all procedures.

Education/Experience Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent. Graduation from an accredited medical vocational institution with phlebotomy course diploma.
Minimum one year of phlebotomy experience preferred. Medical practice experience helpful. National certification through American Medical Technologists as a registered phlebotomy technician not required but helpful. Current CPR certificate preferred. Knowledge of basic medical terminology preferred.
Knowledge of phlebotomy techniques.
Knowledge of clinic protocols and policies.
Computer literate.
Skill in performing efficient and effective draws.
Skill in conducting cooperative interactions with patients and staff.
Skill intact and diplomacy in interpersonal interactions.
Ability to communicate calmly and clearly with patients.
Ability to interpret and respond appropriately to instructions.
Ability to coordinate eye-hand movements to ensure patient comfort during blood draws.
