Badminton is a new program played on our expansive gym floor. As the program grows, there is a tremendous opportunity to offer extensive programming. Our goal is to grow the Badminton community at the club for our members to enjoy the sport as a fun way to stay in shape, meet and develop friendships.
We are currently seeking a Badminton Instructor/Coordinator. Must be available to work a flexible schedule including weekends. The club hours are 6 am to 9 pm on weekdays and 7 am to 5 pm on weekends. The position requires 10 - 15 hours per week based on the number of lessons and programming scheduled.
Responsibilities
Teach private and group lessons from beginner to advanced level players.
Assist with Organized Open Play throughout the week. Making sure everyone is getting fair playing time.
Run programs throughout the year that will help players develop more skill and knowledge of the sport.
Help organize and officiate tournaments and mixers throughout the year.
Assist the membership team with growing the Badminton community at the club.
Requirements
Be able to work daytime, evenings, and weekends
Be willing to work up to 15 hours a week
Ability to sit, stand, walk, and reach
Comfortable working with all different age groups and able to build positive relationships with the members
Friendly, outgoing, energetic, positive attitude
Have exceptional organizational skills, time management, and communication
Able to instruct Badminton players in the basics of the game, strategy, shot selection and court awareness.
Have a strong knowledge of the rules and regulations of Badminton
Preferred but not Required:
Obtain Badminton Coaching certification through the International Badminton Federation (IBF), within 6 months of being hired:

We are currently looking for full-time Personal Trainers to deliver our brand of training. Candidates will also be given opportunities to teach Group Fitness classes and therefore should have a Group Fitness Certification or applicable experience. This is a unique opportunity to get in as we continue to add more value to our Fitness Department, our members, and our community. There is also additional compensation through commission.
Coach small group fitness classes with a max of 8 people. Offering personalized coaching and modifications to fit the clients needs. Small group classes range in theme from kettlebells, power lifting, cardio, circuit training, foam rolling and more.
Team members use the class template and have the chance to create their own class workout and playlist.
Ability to jump in and train clients one on one.
All candidates must have a current Personal Training and CPR/AED certification.

As a Lakeshore Sport & Fitness intern you will assist in the day-to-day operations of all of our events, marketing, children's programs, and daily operations of the health club. Duties may include inventory management, equipment maintenance, event staff management with a special emphasis on customer service with the general public. The internship position requires evening and weekend hours. Applicants should be recreation, sports management or physical education degree candidates looking to work on the operations side of 185,000 square foot health club in the heart of Lincoln Park. 20 of the 40 hours are paid.

This role is responsible for the routine and preventative maintenance and repair of four 120,000+ square foot athletics facilities buildings; mechanical and fitness equipment; and utility systems. Under general supervision, performs a wide variety of skilled and semi-skilled building maintenance and repair tasks. Performs major and minor repair of all buildings and equipment.
Conducts periodic preventative maintenance on the mechanical, HVAC and plumbing systems. This involves lubrications, adjustment, cleaning, and periodic testing of the equipment.
