Full-time Description
The schedule for this position is Monday-Friday 7am-3:30pm or until all deliveries are completed along with rotating Saturdays. Schedules are subject to change based on business needs, and may require overtime.
Job Responsibilities
Drive a box truck under 26,001 pounds or other vehicles during one of our many routes while making 10-20 deliveries/day deliveries
Complete and maintain accurate records and logs including driver's logs, fuel purchase logs, and other records as required by company policy and law
Make on time deliveries at our customer's locations while in a safe, punctual manner in all weather conditions
Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on the vehicle you're driving for the day
You can expect to lift 50 pounds consistently throughout your shift and occasionally lift up to 80 pounds. When lifting commercial tires you will do team lifts or use mechanical equipment.
When working with barrels or industrial/agricultural tires you will need to be able to exert a pushing force of up to 40 pounds
Able to assist in the loading/unloading of trucks and occasionally operate equipment (forklift pallet jacks, order pickers, etc.) when needed
Expect to work approx. 8-12 hours/day
Operate a handheld device, provided, and ensure all deliveries are fulfilled
Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently with customers, coworkers, and management
Collect payments from customers upon delivery of product

Physical Demands and Work Environment
Physical demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be qualified as to visual, auditory, physical, and mental ability to operate equipment safely with or without reasonable accommodation. QUALIFICATIONS
Must be 21 years or older (mandatory company policy)
1 year of professional driving experience (cube van, box truck or semi), and satisfactory completion of company road test by qualified assessor
Ability to be trained and safely use powered industrial trucks (forklifts) and high reach lifts, as required
Must possess a valid driver's license and good driving record in compliance with our driver policy
Ability to safely lift 50 pounds consistently and occasionally lift up to 80 pounds

Additional Entertainment Driver Details:
Must be committed to completing the tour once assigned
Tour durations range between 10 days and 10 months
Production runs last 7 days to 21 days
Touring is a completely 'irregular route' opportunity. We operate in all 48 contiguous states and Canada. We do not go into Mexico.
May be required to assist in loading and unloading the trailer and securing with load bars and straps
Good backing skills. Some venues will have unique arrangements for unloading, so having good backing skills is a must

CDL-A with a minimum of 6 months' verifiable tractor-trailer experience in the past 3 years
Production/Entertainment driving experience a plus
You can still join the Averitt team if you do not have entertainment driving experience. After working with our regional driving team for 30 days and gaining leadership approval, you can transfer into this position, pending regional availability.
Safety Requirements:
Must be registered for the FMCSA Clearinghouse
No convictions for reckless driving within the past 5 years
No convictions for DUI or DWI within the past 5 years
No suspensions or revocations for a moving violation within the last 5 years
No serious violations within previous 12 months (15 mph or greater, following too closely, improper passing, traffic offense committed in a CMV in connection with a fatality)
No more than 3 moving violations within the past 3 years
No preventable DOT recordable accidents within the past 3 years

Position Summary
The Semi Truck Driver is responsible for operating diesel-powered tractor-trailers or box trucks to safely transport and deliver products or materials to various destinations. This role requires strict adherence to safety regulations, efficient route management, and excellent customer service.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Transport Goods: Pick up, transport, and deliver goods to designated locations, including warehouses, retail locations, and distribution centers.
Vehicle Inspections: Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, including tires, brakes, lights, fluids, and other critical components. Report any issues or malfunctions promptly.
Secure Cargo: Properly load, arrange, and secure cargo to prevent damage or shifting during transit.
Maintain Logs and Documentation: Accurately complete required logs, including hours of service (HOS), fuel usage, mileage, and delivery records, in compliance with federal and state DOT regulations.
Follow Safety and Traffic Laws: Operate the vehicle safely in compliance with all DOT rules and local traffic laws. Adjust driving based on road, traffic, and weather conditions.
Communication: Maintain timely communication with dispatchers and supervisors to report progress, delays, or issues with routes or deliveries.
Operate Equipment: Use equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, clamp trucks, and hand trucks to assist in the loading and unloading process, when necessary.
Customer Service: Interact professionally with customers, vendors, and staff during pickups and deliveries. Represent the company in a courteous and respectful manner.
Qualifications

Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
Clean Driving Record - No recent major violations or accidents.
DOT Medical Certification - Must pass and maintain a valid DOT medical card.
Physical Ability - Able to lift up to 50-100 pounds, climb in and out of trucks, and handle extended periods of sitting and driving.
Attention to Detail - Ensure accuracy in documentation, safety inspections, and cargo security.
Time Management - Ability to stay on schedule and meet tight delivery deadlines.
Communication Skills - Effective verbal communication with dispatchers, customers, and other personnel.
Navigation Skills - Proficient with GPS and trip-planning tools.
Education and Experience
High School Diploma or GED required.
3-5 years of experience driving tractor-trailers preferred.
