The Indirect Purchasing Buyer is responsible for procuring all non-production goods and services that support the daily operations of the Indianola facility. The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for directing maintenance activities on the assigned shift in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner. The Marzetti Company is looking for someone to provide for the maintenance and repair of the plant's machinery, grounds, buildings and equipment. This is the entry level position in the maintenance classification and is expected to perform the job functions under minimal supervision.
Responsibilities
Sign-On Bonus Up to $6000
$3000 paid after 90 days of full-time employment with no attendance or performance issues.'
$3000 paid after 6 months of full-time employment with no attendance or performance issues.
This position will work 6 days per week, 3pm - 11pm.
SAFETY:
* Maintains highest standard of Safety for all functions on an ongoing basis and ensures compliance for self and others to OSHA standards.
* Performs daily inspection of all PPE required including but not limited to SLIP-RESISTANT/STEEL-TOED SHOES, safety glasses, gloves, shields & and aprons to ensure good overall condition of items that provide optimal personal safety & protection while working in the facility.
* Successfully acquires and maintains Company Industrial Truck and Lift Certification and safely performs all functions in accordance to OHSA and company requirements and standards.
* Performs proper housekeeping and uses appropriate personal protective equipment for tasks.
* Performs daily inspection of equipment with proper documentation.
QUALITY:
* Maintains company standards for cleanliness, food and equipment safety and efficient productivity.
* Performs all required inspections of equipment and products per specification with proper documentation.
* Ensures compliance to quality, food safety and HAACP support programs; assures conformity to all company, customer and government standards.
TEAMWORK:
* Effectively communicates verbally and written with Team Members and Management.
* Works respectfully with all team members to ensure the Safety, Quality, production and support of our products and goals on a daily basis.
* Actively participates in department/shift/team meetings and is involved with suggestions of improvement/resolutions.
FUNCTIONS:
* Practices integrity, respect, accountability, continuous improvement and positive interactions with all Team Members and visitors.
* Evaluates & identifies potential problems, repairs & maintains electrical / mechanical machinery and equipment.
* Evaluates & identifies potential problem, repairs & maintains pneumatic, hydraulic, HVAC and plumbing systems inside & outside of plant.
* Installs new and/or relocates old equipment.
* Performs necessary repairs and maintenance to buildings and grounds as advised.
* Cleans and repairs boilers.
* Identifies potential problems, repairs and overhauls and maintains crane systems.
* Completes preventative maintenance as assigned and completes required documentation as indicated.
* TIG welding with mild steel and/or stainless steel.
* Involved with project improvements.
* Assists with team meetings with all coworkers.
* Regular Attendance is required in accordance with Company attendance policy and procedures.
* Performs other duties / responsibilities as assigned by Management.

Qualifications
* Mechanical aptitude and accurate troubleshooting ability are required, preferably in a food manufacturing environment.
* Ability to successfully work independently and as a team with minimal supervision to accomplish tasks as assigned.
* Must be able to successfully obtain industrial truck and lift operating certification and safely maintain per company and OSHA standards.
* Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively - verbally & written - to and work well with Team Members, Management, Customers & Vendors.
* Working knowledge of manufacturing equipment operation, ability to properly use/operate accurate tools and good math skills are required.
* Ability to read & interpret written & verbal direction while working in a safe, effective & productive manner within a fast paced environment.
* Minimum of High School Diploma or GED required, Industrial Maintenance Degree preferred.
* Must be able to pass a proficiency test with a minimum score of 80%.
Working Conditions/Environment
Works in a manufacturing environment where the employee is regularly required to speak, read and comprehend, sit, stand, walk, reach, lift, grasp, climb and bend while working in a fast-paced production environment. Must be able to push/pull 150 pounds short distances. Lifting of up to 75 pounds repetitively. Standing required for up to 12 hours shifts with regular breaks. May be required to work overtime and/or weekends as needed. The employee is regularly exposed to heat, fumes, odors, dust, oil, slippery floors, moving parts/equipment and non-toxic industrial waste and scrap. The noise level in the plant is loud.
SLIP-RESISTANT/Steel-toed SHOES, Earplugs, safety glasses, hairnets, beard nets (if facial hair exists) are required to be worn/used in accordance with company GMP and Safety standards. Condition of these items must be inspected by employee daily and be replaced when no longer providing the optimal protection of the employee.
