Key Responsibilities: -
Performs and monitors patient progress and response to service.
Assesses patients and makes appropriate recommendations based on outcomes with regard to therapeutic interventions.
In accordance with hospital policy and procedure, performs all duties as a respiratory care practitioner as assigned.
Performs invasive and noninvasive diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
Correctly records all information in the patient legal record and maintains department records.
Educates patients on their diseases state, wellness, home care modalities and safety. Treatments performed as related to age specific needs.
Educates/Precepts students and new orientee's to the roles/responsibilities of a RCP.
Applies technical knowledge to consult physicians with regard to cardiopulmonary status.
Participates in in-services and meetings, completes competencies. Monitors all department communications.
May be responsible for charge/team leader roles and other assigned duties.
Key Requirements and Technology Experience:
Skills; Credentials of RRT issued by the National Board of Respiratory Care.
Must demonstrate critical care knowledge as it relates to cardiopulmonary disease stat
Graduate of a Respiratory Therapy program with RRT credential.
1-3 years of experience.
Prefer active membership in American Association of Respiratory Care (AARC).
Candidate must have a current license to practice respiratory care issued by the state.
BLS (American Heart Assoc.)

Preferred Certifications & Licensure: -NRP for NICU.

Requirements and Qualifications
We are looking for a highly skilled and credentialed therapist ready to contribute immediately.
Credential Required: Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) credential is mandatory.
Licensure: Must be a Licensed Occupational Therapist (OTR/L) or Physical Therapist (PT) in the state of Florida.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in hand or upper extremity rehabilitation is preferred.

Responsibilities
NICU Respiratory Therapist (RCP III)
Position Overview:
To provide all aspects of respiratory care to neonatal patients in the NICU, nursery, labor and delivery, emergency room, surgery, and on transport. Act as a Charge RCP when a RCP IV not available.
* FULL-TIME POSITIONS MAY BE ELIGIBLE FOR A $3,000.00 SIGN-ON BONUS AND $1,000.00 EMPLOYEE REFERRAL BONUS *
Qualifications
Salary Range: $38.25 - $57.65 / hour
Minimum Qualifications:
Graduate of an AMA-approved school of respiratory therapy and be registered (RRT) by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC).
Completion of CMH NICU Training Program or two years documented advance practice clinical experience in NICU, Labor and delivery, competency in neonatal intubation.
Current RCP license issued by the State of California Respiratory Care Board.
Must be Registered (RRT) by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC).
Must have current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare providers.
Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
Current Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS)

Responsibilities of the Position:
Measures lung capacity and analyzes blood samples using a blood gas analyzer.
Delivers and assesses response to ordered therapy per plan of care. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
Evaluates respiratory care policies and procedures based on patient outcomes, current research, and best practices.
Responds to codes and calls for emergent assistance. Assesses patient condition and delivers appropriate treatment.
Educates the patient and family about the patient's illness and provides information about community support groups and other resources.
Monitors, receives, stocks, and distributes respiratory care supplies and medical gas cylinders.
Maintains storage areas with required supply levels and equipment.
Disassembles, cleans, and sterilizes equipment, and performs preventative maintenance and calibration of machines.
Requirements Minimum Education:
Graduate of a Respiratory Care Program of Study for an Advanced Practice Level Respiratory Therapist, with an A.A.S. degree, or Certification of Graduation.
Certifications\/Licenses:
Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (RRT) is required.
Licensed to practice as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) is preferred. Certification by the American Heart Association in Basic Life Support and ACLS is required at time of hire. Certification in PALS within 90 days of hire.
Minimum Work Experience:
One year of routine respiratory care experience is preferred. Graduation from an Associate Degree level program can be substituted for one year of experience.

Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Requirements
PRIMARY (ESSENTIAL) DUTIES:
Provide respiratory therapy (conventional/routine) to all patients of all age groups, infants to adults, as ordered. Explains purpose and procedure of treatments, tests, and equipment to patients.
Receive assignment. Check patient chart and physician's orders. Set up equipment and medications and administer treatments as ordered, e.g., oxygen administration, humidity therapy, airway management, resuscitation, mechanical ventilation, postural drainage procedures; closed atmosphere and respiratory monitoring, intermittent positive pressure breathing, aerosol therapy, and pharmacology respiratory therapy. Chart treatment, response, and progress.
Monitor environmental control systems, others. Deliver and set up equipment and monitor patients on continuous ventilation. Do nasotracheal and tracheal (endotracheal tube or tracheostomy) suctioning.
Make patient rounds regularly. Observe patient, check equipment, and change/make adjustments as necessary. Solve problems. Discontinue therapy as ordered. Remove equipment from patient rooms, disassemble, etc.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or GED
Permanently licensed by the Idaho State Board of Medicine as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP
Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
2-years' experience in the adult critical care setting within the last 5-years
ICU experience within the last 3-years
BLS
PALS - completed within three (3)-months of hire date
ACLS - completed within three (3)-months of hire date
NRP - completed within one (1)-year of hire date
