POSITION: Bulk Loader-Unloader Operator
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
Accurately unload bulk ingredients from either trucks or rail car within the guidelines of our Feed Quality Management System (FQMS). Collect samples as outlined in the quality standard and be the first line of defense for accepting only high quality ingredients. Keep all working bins full by either transferring ingredients from storage bins or filling directly from incoming source. Accurately measure bin depth and report measurements for inventory purposes each working day. Complete required paperwork, follow FQMS Program requirements for ingredients, and perform required housekeeping duties. Operator must understand all the equipment in order to safely and efficiently operate it.
Accurately load customer bulk trucks per their pre-printed order form and provide proper labeling with the loading papers. Individual must understand the bulk bin layout and how to operate the bulk checker station, bulk meal station and the bulk blender station. Individual must be courteous to all drivers, company or customer. The bulk loader will abide by the FQMS finished product specification program requirements and collect samples of each feed for quality review and retention. The individual must follow the housekeeping guidelines set forth and complete all necessary paperwork, written and computer.
SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS:
* Mechanically inclined individual who can help troubleshoot their system.
* Must possess knowledge of Repete System and operation of equipment.
* Individual must understand and abide by all Purina Code of Conduct, Safety, Quality, and Environmental programs.

* The Bulk Loader/Unloader Operator will unload ingredients into the appropriate bin. The operator will complete all ingredient tickets with the required information for each ingredient into the system. The operator must safely and efficiently unload trucks and rail cars to prevent the cost of Demurrage on rail cars. The operator must understand the limitations of the system, each ingredient, and each bin. The operator will need to work with the Production Supervisor or Lead Person in order to accommodate ingredients and special circumstances. The Bulk Loader/Unloader Operator is responsible for cracking and flaking grains, cleaning grains, and transferring ingredients from storage bins to working bins.
* The Bulk Loader/Unloader will use the computer inventory system to determine which bin product is in, to complete the process order and to confirm product delivery weight. Individual shall know and understand all parts of the bulk load system including bins, conveyors, legs, scales, etc. Collect samples and scrutinize product to make sure quality standards are met. Operator shall contact supervisor or lead person if unsure about the quality or quantity of a product.
EXPECTATIONS
* Work Safely: All safety procedures are expected to be followed including, but not limited to: LOTO, PPE, Housekeeping.
* Quality Checks: Operators are expected to abide all FQMS and Purina quality standards. Runs are to be inspected for: liquid application, contamination, sequencing, etc. All assigned quality documentation is to be filled out at time of observation by the operator and submitted daily to plant supervision.
* Paperwork: Bulk loader-unloaders are solely responsible for completing and submitting all paperwork pertaining to the position.
* Housekeeping: Operators are expected to keep good housekeeping standards in the bulk station and ingredient processing areas. Operators are required to keep the floor in clean, safe order. Safe housekeeping practices shall be used at all times.
* E1 Operations: Operators are expected to use their own personal E1 Logins when operating the bulk loader-unloader stations.
* Repete Operations: Operators are expected to use their own personal Repete Logins when operating the bulk loader-unloader stations.
* Operators are first and foremost expected to complete all operations in a safe manner. Safety is top priority at all production stations. ALL safety procedures are expected to be followed. If you feel an operation is unsafe or safety measure are inadequate you are to stop and inform your supervisor.
* Unload bulk ingredient trucks and/or rail cars. Maintain full working bins and processed grain bins. Complete all required duties daily. Immediately communicate with production supervisor, quality supervisor, or lead person when ingredients do not look acceptable. Complete all required duties before leaving for the day. If required duties won't be completed, notify your supervisor in advance.
* The remaining expectations are to ensure quality, efficient, and effective production of Purina Animal Nutrition products. Accurately complete all paperwork according to FQMS and regulatory compliance. Clean up and dispose of all trash accumulated during shift before leaving for the day. Communicate with Production Supervisor, Quality Program Supervisor, or Lead Person when required product or ingredient is not available or out-of-spec quality conditions exist. Supervisor will communicate with other pertinent operators to work out a plan to meet customer demands.
* Operators are accountable for their time here at PAN and we strive to maintain a clean and safe working environment. All operators are expected to use appropriate housekeeping methods to keep their area clean.
PRODUCTION EXPECTATIONS
* Test and unload trucks and railcars in a timely manner.
* During times of transferring ingredients, operator should either be checking bins, housekeeping, or troubleshooting system.
* Maintain a maximum of 1 hour to load a 25-ton trailer provided all the correct amounts of required product are available for load out.

Ensure daily plant quality and food safety operations are compliant with DFA policies and procedures and local, state, and federal regulations
Maintain audit readiness
Maintain a robust food safety program and subsequent quality program

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Load and unload stacks and move items as assigned; sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence, such as size, type, style, color, or product code
* Sort and store perishable goods in refrigerated area
* Maintain organization, rotation of stock, and neatness of all coolers and warehouse
* Fill requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other items and distribute to production workers
* Accurately pull and prepare customer orders for shipping and for efficient loading onto trucks/trailers
* Check all information for accurate shipment of customer orders; check bills of lading for accuracy before any product is shipped or received; check products for cleanliness and condition prior to loading
