Pay: $28.16 per hour + $1.00 shift differential, with an additional $0.30 increase after 90 days.
Shift & Working Hours: 3rd Shift - Monday-Friday; 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM.
Weekends/Overtime/Holidays as needed, hours subject to business needs.
This is a Union Facility, and this position is covered by a Collective Bargaining Agreement.
The Production Operator is the front-line employee who performs the manufacturing processes that add value and quality to the inputs and create the final high-quality final products. There are a variety of sub-classifications within the Operator job family that could range in specific duties from receiving and handling the raw materials, adding value through a variety of proprietary processes, to packaging the final product. In all stages of production safety, attention to detail, a quality and sanitation focus, and efficiency are key to the success of the operation.
This role is at a Dairy Foods manufacturing facility for Land O'Lakes, creating dairy products that stand for real, simple goodness. We believe there's power in every drop of milk our farmers produce, and by improving production and finding innovative uses for that milk, we add a little good to people's lives.
Required Qualifications & Experiences:
18 years or older
6+ months of manufacturing experience
Basic computer skills.
Ability to read, write, comprehend, follow verbal and written instructions and possess basic mathematical skills
Preferred Qualifications & Experiences:
High School Diploma or GED
1+ years of continuous prior experience in any industry
Self-Reliant and able to accurately work under limited supervision
Able to trouble shoot mechanical problems
Communicates work order progress to supervisor and production operators
Customer focused and able to work in a collaborative team
Ability to be flexible in work performed and schedule
Knowledge of various pieces of high tech manufacturing processing and packaging equipment. Examples include but not limited to baggers, palletizers and cookers.
Ability to follow manufacturer's specifications and directions
Able to work in a fast-paced environment
Work in cold and/or hot temperatures throughout the day
Adhere to all standard operating procedures (SOPs)
Ensures a safe working environment while performing assigned tasks
Physical Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS:

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Extrude quality product in an efficient manner, inspecting every 30 minutes
Conduct and document quality in-process checks
Ensure proper additive ingredients are being used and applied at the specified rates
Set-up die plates and knife heads
Minimize start-up and change-over times working as efficiently as possible
Communicate with batching and meat room operators with understanding of product flow
Keeping working area and extrusion line clean and orderly
Assist in weekly sanitation of equipment

A Typical Work Day May Include:
Operating equipment and technology tools throughout the facility which may include mixers, batching, mills, grinders, packing, weighing, palletizers, etc.
Collecting product samples and supervising tank levels, utilizing computer systems to input and record data as necessary
Manufacturing products to ensure that they meet specifications
Interacting regularly with peers and management to pursue continuous improvement of facility operations and promote a teamwork focused environment
Operating mobile equipment such as forklifts, loaders, etc.
Understanding and adhering to all safety policies and procedures
Maintaining a safe and clean work environment
Other duties as assigned
What You Will Need:
Eligible to work in the United States without a visa sponsorship
Be 18 years or older
Ability to understand and communicate in English (verbal/written)
Basic computer skills
Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc., with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
Ability to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above)

The Production Operator -Mixer focuses on setting up, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting manufacturing production (i.e., machining, processing, assembly, or packaging) equipment including: Operating machine tool, chemical processing, assembly, or packaging equipment to manufacture products according to production specifications, schedules, volume/cost/wastage targets, and quality standards •Moving, packing, and sorting raw materials or finished goods •Monitoring the quality of output to identify, discard, or re-manufacture faulty products •Maintaining accurate daily production records as input to manufacturing performance analysis and examines production materials for processing. Operates all equipment and processes. Monitors machine parameters and troubleshoots processing problems.
