Morris & Ritchie Associates, Inc. (MRA) is currently seeking a Land Planner / Landscape Architect with 10 or more years of experience in master planning, site planning, detailed design and landscape architecture for our Georgetown, Delaware office . This opportunity is ideally suited to an individual seeking a greater level of responsibility in managing diverse projects with our landscape architects, architects, and engineers throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.

Land Planner Responsibilities will include:

• Planning (from concept – thru refinement and jurisdictional submission) of large scale, mixed use, master planned communities,
• Detailed site planning for all asset classes (residential, retail, office, ecommerce, hospitality, institutional, etc.),
• Landscape architectural design and detailing for a variety of land development components such as monumental entrances, streetscapes, clubhouses/community centers, playgrounds, plazas, courtyards, pocket parks, etc.,
• Understanding local jurisdictional requirements from comprehensive plans, to zoning codes, to detailed subdivision, landscape, and signage regulations/guidelines, including the ability to help craft modifications to these documents,
• Active participation in industry and professional associations such as ULI, MBIA, NAIOP, ICSC, and
• Presenting to clients, stakeholders, and governing bodies, and writing reports, technical memos, and letters.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture,
• Landscape Architecture Licensure,
• 10+ years of experience in planning and landscape architectural design,
• Excellent written, graphic, and oral presentation communication skills,
• Fluency in AutoCAD (Civil 3D), MS Office Suite, and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign), and 3D modeling software (Revit, SketchUp, Rhino), and
• The ability to collect, organize, and present data in creative ways to team members and clients.

We are looking for a creative, organized, and motivated designer and project manager to work as part of our design team on our full suite of planning and design services including conceptual plans, construction documents, construction assistance, master plans, and management plans for a wide range of projects. The position will involve project management, conceptual design, construction documents, site evaluation, construction observation, research, report writing, and public outreach events. Additionally, the position will include preparation of scopes, proposals, and other marketing materials.

This individual must have the ability to coordinate effectively with other project managers, and to prioritize and complete high-quality work within specified deadlines. A test of practical skills may be required of final candidates.

Minimum Requirements

• Degree in landscape architecture (or equivalent experience).
• Five years of experience in landscape design.
• At least 2 years of project management experience as the person responsible for project or task budget, schedule, deliverables, and client contact.
• Competence in preparation of all aspects of construction documents, including layout, grading, irrigation, planting, details, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of northern California native and ornamental plants commonly used in the landscape.
• Understanding of MWELO requirements.
• Experience designing public and commercial projects

Additional qualifications considered a plus

• Proficiency with ArcGIS, LandF/X, Adobe Creative Suite, or Sketchup
• Experience or coursework in ecology, biology, land use planning, environmental engineering, and related topics
• Knowledge of Southern California or Nevada native and ornamental plants commonly used in the landscape
• Experience planning and facilitating public outreach events.
• Fluency in a language other than English
• Licensure in California or successful completion of one or more LARE Sections
• ReScape (Bay Friendly or River Friendly) qualification

ZGF is seeking a creative, curious, and motivated Laboratory Planner/Architect to join our team in our Portland office. We are looking for thoughtful individuals with excellent communication and technical skills and interest in developing their knowledge of and experience in laboratory planning and design. The position will support the firmwide lab planning effort and the entire architectural team with the development, execution, and completion of technologically advanced, state-of-the-future laboratory projects. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of laboratory planning/design professional experience and will bring design excellence to every project.

As a Laboratory Planner/Architect , you will….

• Build your knowledge of laboratory design topics while providing support to the architectural and lab planning staff, with the goal of becoming an expert in this special field.
• Develop and provide technical planning expertise and, eventually, leadership for laboratory projects.
• Be involved in programming, design, fit-out planning, major equipment planning, building systems integration, laboratory casework systems design and specification, and construction administration.

• Demonstrated creativity, passion, and interest in design and planning of laboratories within technical facilities.
• Desire to expand knowledge of general, technical and regulatory concepts and requirements for laboratory design.
• Interest in Science and the advancement of Scientific Research
• Willing to be mentored in laboratory design and able to take on self-directed learning exercises.
• Knowledge of laboratory planning, design, construction documents, construction administration and project construction are required.
