Landscape architect job description

Provide technical support on projects by performing a variety of landscape architecture related tasks and assignments including preparing design/analysis calculations; developing plans and specifications; graphics and renderings, preparing observation reports or feasibility reports; and conducting reviews and analyses for special projects. Will see that project tasks are complete, accurate, and in accordance with landscape architecture best practices.
Responsibilities
• Assist in all aspects of the design process for landscape and lighting plans and park/recreation design including specifications writing and construction plan detailing and development.
• Participate in initial set up, progress and detailing of landscape plans working with AutoCAD.
• Check, review and schedule projects for CADD Operators and perform CADD work.
• Maintain awareness of project deadlines, project dates and budgetary guidelines.
• Coordinate submissions to various agencies.
• Collect project data and requirements.
• Perform plant material counts. Identifications and inventories.
• Prepare graphic presentation exhibits.
• Coordinate department printing needs.
• Perform landscape construction installation observation when required.
• Prepare landscape cost estimates as required.
Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Landscape Architecture.
• Experience: 2-4 years of related experience to Civil/Site.
• Licensure/Certifications: Registered Landscape Architect preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of landscape architecture, AutoCAD and plant material for design and vegetation inventories.
• Skilled in graphic presentations.
• Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Proficient with Sketch Up, Proficient working knowledge with Photoshop/Illustrator/Visual/Land FX. Lumion program.
• Working knowledge of MS Office.
• GPS/GIS experience a plus.

• Researching governing codes and ordinances pertinent to the project site.
• Developing site designs for a variety of urban and natural settings including layout and grading for paved surfaces, planting areas, site furnishings and fixtures, etc.
• Coordinating work with site civil engineers and natural resource scientists.
• Developing planting designs to support site engineering projects.
• Editing project specifications and coordinating them with project plans and details.
• Preparing graphics, plans, and construction documents utilizing CAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and other software for projects, proposals, and marketing collateral.
• Completing work to meet design objectives and achieve project milestones.
• Preparing cost estimates with support from the V3 construction estimation team.
• Managing and tracking time and expenses.

The Qualifications are:

• B.S. degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited university is required.
• 2-4 years of experience in land development.
• Portfolio demonstrating high quality design ability and creativity.
• Civil 3D experience preferred but not required.
• Strong work ethic and willingness to prioritize clients’ needs.

What you will do Participate in design coordination and production efforts on a wide range of Regenerative Design, Urban Design, Landscape Architecture and Planning projects, through all phases of the design process.Assist with, and prepare design presentations, consistent with the Cuningham brand.Develop and document designs using Revit software.Collaborate with related disciplines: architecture, civil engineering, structural engineering, electrical engineering, planning, and interior design.Coordinate documents with consultants, contractors, etc.Participate in construction administration activities with Project Landscape Architect and on-site staff.Assist project management and design teams with on-site observations and verifications.Work hard, have fun, challenge yourself and challenge others.

What we look for Masters or Bachelors degree in Landscape Architecture, a minor or focus on Urban Design/Planning preferred.5+ years of landscape architectural and master planning experience. Licensure in at least one state, required.Possess excellent verbal, written and graphic communication skills.Candidate must be a self-starter, possess critical thinking skills, dedicated work discipline and excellent self-management skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Sketchup, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, GIS and good hand-drawing skills. Revit skills strongly desired, basic skills a plus. 3D Rendering skills in Rhino, Lumion, Enscape, and 3DS Max preferred. Demonstrated experience balancing design and technical ability on a variety of project phases and scales.Demonstrated ability to work independently or collaboratively on multiple projects running concurrently.

Compensation and BenefitsCompensation Range: $70,300 - $105,500 (Annual Salary).
