Founded in 1982, RVi is a leading national planning and design firm with offices located in TX, AZ, CO, FL, GA, and NC and engaged in a broad range of project types including community planning and design, resorts, parks, academic, commercial, hospitality, and veterans cemeteries throughout the US.

The Landscape Designer is a non-licensed designer that assists project leadership in all aspects of project design, development, and documentation activities through all phases of a project. The Staff Designer prepares, coordinates, and assembles project documents as directed by project leadership.
Day to Day
• Attends office staff and scheduling meetings;
• Performs project tasks reliably and effectively and in a timely manner;
• Collaborates with and effectively communicates with project team and consultants;
• Prepares project research and participates in project goal and concept development;
• Prepares project correspondence, documentation, and presentation materials;
• Assists with and attends project meetings and client presentations;
• Prepares meeting minutes;
• Responds to Project Manager and Client requests;
• Prepares and coordinates CAD and other project documents that meet design intent, schedule, and budget expectations;
• Prepares presentation materials and participates in design review and client presentations;
• Prepares takeoffs and assists with cost estimation;
• Assists with preparation of project specifications;
• Assists with Construction Administration activities and makes site visits;
• Assists in project submittal review;
• Manages digital and hardcopy project files;
• Prepares and organizes project reprographics and printed materials;
• Produces accurate work within established schedule;
• Reports progress to Project Manager;
Requirements
Education:

Landscape Architecture degree from accredited BLA or MLA university program;
Experience and Skills:

• 0-4 years of professional design experience in private practice design or planning firm;
• Well-developed skills with AutoCAD, AutoCAD customizations, Photoshop, SketchUp, InDesign, and Microsoft Office suite software;
• Advanced digital and hand rendering skills;
• Excellent communications skills;
• Well-developed collaboration skills;
• Well-developed contract document layout and production knowledge;
• Well-developed handcraft skills (cutting, model building, mounting);
• Recommended: one student internship with private practice design or planning firm;

What You'll Need:

+ The ability to learn quickly, strong communication skills, and a solid work ethic

+ A passion for design and creative knack for problem-solving

+ Experience developing graphic exhibits and construction documents of landscape plans

+ A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Landscape Architecture or Planning from an accredited program

+ AutoCAD Civil 3D experience is a plus; along with Adobe Creative Suite and SketchUp

BrightView Landscape Services is looking for a Landscape Designer to support the Northeast Region. This position requires a high level of creativity, organization and professionalism. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic individual with fresh ideas, committed to staying on the leading edge of design, plant introductions and new technology.

You'd be responsible for:

+ Working with fellow Designers and Account Managers to meet project needs

+ Ensuring quality, accuracy and completeness of project work

+ Developing the skills required to produce products in support of the work

+ Learning and applying office standards

+ Communicating with clients and consultants in a professional manner

+ Traveling to properties for meetings with Account Managers and Clients to conduct site analyses and review program

You might be a good fit if you have:

+ Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture or Landscape Contracting

+ 3-5 years of full-time experience in Landscape Design, preferably commercial design

+ Proficient with computer software programs including Adobe Suite, AutoCAD, SketchUp and Microsoft Office Suite

+ Hand drawing skills a plus

+ Strong horticultural knowledge

+ Strong work ethic and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment

+ Effective oral and written communication skills

+ Ability to prioritize and multi-task

+ Licensure an added benefit but not required.
