Principal Accountabilities, (Other duties may be assigned) To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Operate within facility safety guidelines and promote the use of safe practices. Facilitate cross-training with team members to become proficient with all products and processes. Lead meetings to communicate goals and develop actions to reach goals. Encourage and support team members with the implementation of continuous improvement ideas. Ensure team utilization/adherence of Standard Work and Quality Standards. Work to improve the accuracy of manufacturing documentation (BOM, routing data, work instructions, quality criteria, playbooks, etc.). Works cross functionally to adjust and shift labor to meet overall operational needs. Provide input regarding operational goals, team member performance and strategic planning. Ensure equipment maintenance and calibration is completed in a timely manner and maintains appropriate documentation. Actively promote/direct daily housekeeping, and workplace organization (5S) to ensure the entire process area is in tour ready condition. Manages budgetary responsibilities, promotes responsible spending and strives to come in at or below monthly/annual budget. Works to develop team members (OnTRACs, coaching, non-negotiables, shaping culture, etc.). Criteria for Success Must understand and serve the needs of their customers by providing positive educations experiences. Must have a history of achievement with an emphasis on problem solving. Must have the desire to continuously improve and be willing to accept responsibility. Must be able to work in a team and build a network of relationships with a positive attitude. Education, Experience and Skills High School Diploma, GED or equivalent skill level. Must possess basic mathematical skills. Must have the ability to communicate clearly and engage team members in projects, customer orders, materials and other customer needs. Must be computer literate, follow basic e-mail etiquette, and have the ability to read engineering drawings. Work Environment and Physical Requirements The environment is mostly on the shop floor in a noisy and sometimes hot environment. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, bend and twist 80% of the time and stand up to 10 hours. Ensure packaging, labeling/freight is executed according to established SOPs & quality standards. Ship all orders ON TIME, maintaining a 98% DIFOT average and document. Operate Parts Kanban System for finished goods. Provide input on carriers performance as needed. Uphold company image and implement company SOPs for packing/labeling/shipping of product. Maintain departmental equipment. Requisition and store shipping materials and supplies to maintain established min max levels. Participate in Lean activities as requested. Attend all departmental meetings. Meet goals set for the department. Complete all assigned documentation and turn it in by established deadlines. Perform other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of basic lean concepts. Prior background in a manufacturing setting. Product knowledge. This role includes preparing molds, handling materials, performing quality checks, and completing routine maintenance. The operator ensures products meet safety, quality, and production standards while troubleshooting equipment as needed. In addition, the role supports team activities, training, and company guidelines, and may require overtime and/or alternate shift coverage in collaboration with other departments. Monitor equipment operations; identify and correct issues, assist with troubleshooting, and escalate as needed. Operate a powered industrial truck as needed for material handling. Communicate effectively with other departments to support production flow. Keep work area organized and ensure molds, tools, and equipment are clean and properly stored. Follow all safety procedures and report unsafe conditions promptly. Participate in training, team activities, and continuous improvement initiatives. Adhere to company policies and conduct guidelines. Execute other duties as assigned.
