Using landscaping tools and operating heavy equipment as needed. Picking up leaves, trash, and cut grass and placing them onto burlap and placing onto a truck or trailer. Perform weeding by hand or using a garden hoe. Ensure use of proper equipment and adhere to safety standards and precautions. Supervising a crew of employees. Skills we're seeking: At least 1 year of landscaping experience is preferred. Management experience is preferred. Requirements: Must be 18 years of age or older. Ensuring that all crew members have the required safety PPE. Ensuring crews have the training and tools needed to complete the job and are operating safely at all times. Ensuring team members clock in and out of the job and tickets each day. Completing a pre-trip vehicle inspection report weekly before dispatch at the beginning of the week. Coordinating with managers, superintendents, customers, and employees as needed. Using landscaping tools, machinery and operating heavy equipment as needed. Safely driving crews to and from jobs, adhering to Company's safety policy and ensuring that the public will be safe while in contact with crews. Installing plants, irrigation, hardscapes, and all materials per the job specifications. Cleaning up areas well after the work is completed. Picking up trash on properties. Provide effective training to crew leaders and crew members. Picking up plant material from vendors and delivering it to job sites. Conduct on-site project meetings with subcontractors and construction trades. Attend GC/sub meetings on a weekly or biweekly basis as needed. Essential Functions/Requirements: Must live by the LSI core values. Must be constantly vigilant and alert to the safety of crew, customers and the public. Must have a valid driver's license (with a clean record) and be able to safely operate and drive a vehicle (over 21 years of age) Must be able to safely operate construction/landscaping machinery. Must be able to lift 70 lbs. Physically able to perform duties in all weather conditions Ability to understand and follow instructions. Ability to think and work with little supervision. Evaluate performance of his crew members and make recommendations regarding promotions, demotions, dismissals, wages, etc. Hold crew leaders accountable to budgets, quality standards, company goals and values in completing all work. Assist in training team members correct labor methods and techniques. Assist in safety training and promoting a safe environment. Report accidents immediately to Supervisor. Keep phone on when having crews working or when required by weather conditions. Inform employees on procedures and policies and hold them accountable. Lead by example! Meet regularly with Crew Leaders and Account Managers. JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS: Candidates must have a minimum of two years' experience in commercial landscaping at the crew foreman level or higher. A degree in the field of horticulture, turf grass science, landscape technology or related field is preferred but not required.
