Position Summary: The Groundskeeper performs routine and preventative maintenance to maintain the physical integrity of the community. They are responsible for the upkeep and cleanliness of the property grounds, facilities, streets, amenities, equipment and various utility systems. Maintenance Technicians provide exceptional customer service to prospective and current residents always. Performance Objectives: Responsible for assisting with maintaining the physical integrity of the community at all times. This involves insuring a clean and well maintained living environment for residents, visitors and staff. Picking up any trash/debris observed on the property while performing normal duties. Protect the investment of the property owner by anticipating, identifying, and correcting any issues regarding safety, hazardous conditions or maintenance needs in the community Coordinate with the Maintenance Supervisor and team to prioritize tasks throughout the day Ensure upkeep of community appearance by replacing lightbulbs, removing trash and litter, painting and performing repairs Assist with groundskeeping, pool maintenance, housekeeping, distribution of notices, inspections, and other tasks as needed Perform preventative maintenance on equipment within the community Complete minor repairs to utility systems and streets as needed Maintain grounds and landscaping to community standards (mowing and weeding as needed) Perform duties in a safe manner, adhering to all safety procedures and properly using safety equipment Inspect, clean and repair facilities and amenities which include clubhouse, basketball courts, swimming pools, and maintenance garage to ensure they are in good condition Additional or modified duties as assigned within the Company's discretion Requirements Key Competencies: Strong leadership abilities: Demonstrated capacity to effectively lead and supervise maintenance staff, providing guidance, support, and motivation to ensure high-quality work performance and team cohesion. San Luis Valley Health is seeking a PRN Seasonal Groundskeeper to join the Grounds team, whose responsibility is to maintain the appearance of the hospital and hospital grounds! You will be part of the team that waters and mows lawns, shovels and removes snow from walks and parking lots, sands icy spots and delivers linen when autoclave person is off. In winter, shovel and plow snow from parking lots and walkways, and salt icy areas as needed. Cleans outdoor furniture, keeps entrances clean, picks up trash and empty barrels. Ensures compliance with SLV Health's no-smoking policy (smoke-free campus). Helps with Maintenance projects, set ups and other functions when assigned. Assist maintenance with projects, set ups, break downs and other functions. Helps customers by reminding them to lock vehicles, jump-starting batteries, assisting with tire changes, calling for road service, and providing driving instructions from parking lot.
