We are looking for a Landscaper who would be responsible for performing various tasks to aid in the daily operations of the landscape work on the construction site
Project Location: 17635 N Porter Rd, Maricopa City, AZ 85138
NOTE: We will have other projects located in North Phoenix and Paradise Valley, once the Maricopa project is completed.
Responsibilities:
Install plants and irrigation systems from point of service, including backflow, valves, wires, pumps, fertilization systems etc. for multifamily site
Landscaping duties as needed
Coordinates projects and work activities with co-workers, other divisions, departments and contractors as applicable
Programs and adjusts irrigation controllers as needed throughout the year to maintain water wise sustainable practices
Performs a variety of skilled tasks during the install process
Daily interaction with project site superintendent
Oversight of installations per plans and specifications
Responsible for ensuring the daily maintenance of equipment
Communicate any safety incidences to project site superintendent
Performs other duties as required
Qualifications
2+ years of experience in commercial Landscape Construction
Read and interpret maps, blueprints, technical specifications & operational manuals
General knowledge of OSHA standards and requirements
Ability to pass pre-employment drug test and background check
Possess a strong work ethic and desire to learn
Establish and maintain positive, effective working relationships with those contacted in the performance of work

POSITION OVERVIEW
Under general supervision, performs a variety of work in the general maintenance of landscape and grounds; maintain and perform minor repairs to grounds maintenance equipment; performs related duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Maintains the general appearance of exterior landscaping in a quality manner by following daily, weekly, monthly and annual landscape schedules

Waters lawn areas using timed and manual irrigation system methods
Maintains and makes minor repairs to irrigation systems
Assures exterior play areas and equipment are safe
Monitors grounds and playground areas and responds to any unsafe situations
Empties exterior trash cans and picks up exterior trash
Assists with field preparation for sporting events
Rakes rock areas to maintain uniform spreading, especially around playground equipment
Blows sidewalks to keep free of rocks and debris
Follows Landscape Management Guide, Landscape Schedules, Field and Ground Treatment Schedules and Annual Soil Testing Reports; makes recommended changes as needed
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
Education and Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent
Minimum one year of experience of professional landscape experience.
Work Experience or Related Experience
Minimum one year of experience (prefer 2-5 yrs.) of professional landscape experience.
Specialized Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Must have the knowledge, skills and interest in improving and maintaining landscape quality throughout the campus.
Requires landscape and maintenance knowledge in the care and upkeep of play fields, landscaped areas, walkways, parking lots and all other campus exterior areas.
Willing to follow all company work rules, including safety rules as defined in the company handbook and follow all required PPE for landscape duties.
Able to work independently in a quality manner.
Able and willing to fill in for custodial duties as needed and to support school events which may require extra hours.

The district will pay to the Office of Pest Management the initial license training class, application fee, and first exam in each category. This job class is treated as FLSA non-exempt and is subject to working on-call and weekend hours.
Distinguishing Features: The Grounds Maintenance Worker II (Edu) is distinguished from the entry level Grounds Maintenance worker I (Edu) position by possessing a higher level of experience and expertise of the grounds maintenance field as well as the ability to provide maintenance activities for the athletic fields within the Education Campus. This position will work in and around Education facilities during regular school hours and is therefore required to pass an extensive background and fingerprint clearance.
Essential Functions: (Essential functions may vary among positions, but may include the following tasks, knowledge, abilities, skills, and other characteristics. This list of tasks is ILLUSTRATIVE ONLY and is not intended to be a comprehensive listing of tasks performed by all positions in this classification.)
Examples of Tasks

Assist in the set up, opening, interment/entombment, closing of burial sites
Installs grave markers, bronze memorials, crypt faces, etc
Provide general maintenance of the cemetery grounds and buildings in a professional and safe manner and in accordance with guidelines established by Catholic Cemeteries
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time
Ability to lift up to 150 with equipment assistance
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
Ability to operate small equipment
Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends

Qualifications
